Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is blaming Iran for drone attacks Saturday against Saudi Arabia's oil infrastructure.

The attacks, attributed to Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, sparked huge fires at a vulnerable chokepoint for global energy supplies.

But in Saturday tweets, Pompeo says "there is no evidence the attacks came from Yemen" and points the finger at Tehran. He adds, "Iran has now launched an unprecedented attack on the world's energy supply."

Secretary Pompeo @SecPompeo

Tehran is behind nearly 100 attacks on Saudi Arabia while Rouhani and Zarif pretend to engage in diplomacy. Amid all the calls for de-escalation, Iran has now launched an unprecedented attack on the world’s energy supply. There is no evidence the attacks came from Yemen.

To absolutely no ones surprise. However, even if we learned the attacks did indeed come from Yemen. The Houthi’s are an Iranian proxy group. So, in-fact it would make little difference.

The business media claims that oil prices will go up as a result of this.

I don’t believe that. Raw material (crude) should drop, but refined products (gasoline, diesel, etc) should go up. Unaffected refineries will get a bump, IMHO, such as Valero, Phillips 66, and Marathon.

You heard it here, and its worth what you paid for it.

Holy sh!t, this is truly huge.

If Iran directly attacked Saudi oil infrastructure, oil is headed to $125 and war is on the near horizon.

Maybe someone should ask JF’nK and/or BO where did Iran get the money for drones etc?

Secretary Pompeo @SecPompeo

We call on all nations to publicly and unequivocally condemn Iran’s attacks. The United States will work with our partners and allies to ensure that energy markets remain well supplied and Iran is held accountable for its aggression

It’s a big deal. Huge for world energy prices and growth. A MAJOR impetus for war.

But reading Pompeo’s tweets I have a vision that he is the Wizard of Oz and the Saudi Royal Family is behind the curtain.

Hopefully the Saudis will launch an attack on Iran and wipe out their oil facilities.

Iran will be toast.

If a few drones from Yemen can do this much damage imagine a real war with Iran.

LOL, geez, calm down already!

Any jump in crude will be temporary and a knee jerk reaction.

There will be no war, at least not that we will take part in. It may give Israel the excuse to give a royal beating to Iran though.

The Saudi air force is very well equipped to bring devastation to Iran. The question with the Saudi’s is and always has been, do they have the will to fight?

Correct, and if the Houthi’s have drones they probably were provided by Iran to begin with.

I don’t care who is responsible. This is not our fight. They did not attack any US bases and even if there are US workers at the site they were not specifically targeted.
