I have thoght, more than once, that we children of the sixties had a pretty deep and all encompassing indoctrination in life situations because of the lyrics we burned into our heads and hearts.

About 5 or so years ago (I'm now 71), I began to pull up the lyrics and read along as I listened to youtube clips that did not provide them.

Especially the oldy oldies like "Patches" or "Leader of The Pack". So much teenage angst and coping involved with stuff like that.

The Beatles were masters at bumper sticker lyrics and started a lot of people thinking about things public school never approached, let alone taught .... and certainly parents wouldn't even allow themselves to even think.

I would LOVE to have a high wattage radio station that pumped out nothing but music from '55 - '70 or so.

A few of the SiriusXM stations fit the bill. They’re more narrowly tuned for content, so there isn’t just one that covers that. Deep Tracks, Classic Vinyl, Elvis Radio would head up the list.
