Many people here seem to think that Trump is playing another 3-D chess move by supporting (in public and on camera) a Federal expansion on Red Flag laws and gun control.
He isn't.

And let's not forget, Trump banned bump stocks in the wake of Las Vegas. Let's not get into what happened in Vegas, but let's just say that Trump knows what happened there had nothing to do with bump stocks, or the Second Amendment. But he banned them anyway.
If you read Trump's speeches and interviews before he became President, he was very liberal on some issue. Gun control was something he had voiced support for on several occasions. He was also "pro-choice" in past years. In a 1999 interview with Tim Russert, Trump said: “I’m very pro-choice.”
Having said that, I do believe he is not the same man he was 20, or even 10 years ago. There is ample evidence (including testimony from Rev. Franklin Graham) that Trump gave his heart to Christ and became an evangelical Christian during the Rev. Billy Graham's 95th birthday celebration.
The Left is salivating over Red Flag laws, many states have them now, and many more will pass them.
California is expanding theirs, and are sending it to Gov Newsom, who has vowed to sign it. The law would allow almost ANYONE to ANONYMOUSLY call in the police to take someones property and violate their Constitutional rights at will.

Red Flag laws won't stop with guns. They will quickly expand into "Red Flagging" groups and people the Satanic Left hates: Christians, freethinkers, Jews, the "wealthy", Conservatives, patriots (labeled "white nationalists"), and anyone else.
This is a nightmare scenario.
The Federal Red Flag law (that Trump has voiced support for, although he has also shifted his position somewhat) would provide BILLIONS to the states to support this unconstitutional and tyrannical behavior. Every state would quickly follow suit to get their hands on "free" Federal money to terrorize the American people.
The Left has tried every other method to take your guns: calling semiautomatics "assault weapons" and banning them, making magazines greater than 10 rounds "illegal" and turning millions of Americans into instant Felons, restricting ammunition sales, eliminating gun sales "loop holes" (which are not "loopholes at all but Constitutional restrictions on the government trying to register your guns), and on and on.
If the President signs ANY "gun control" law, he will lose in 2020.
