McCabe has indicated that, if charged, he would claim the Justice Department was under pressure from the White House.

So, he's not disputing the charges. His defense is that the White House pressured the DOJ? Not smart at all and is not denying the charges.

I think that’s McCabe’s way of signaling that he’s willing to turn on the higher ups in the scandal. Eventually this will lead to the White House. What we’re seeing is a strategy to go for the low lying fruit to get them to turn on the ringleaders.
