Legal scholars told the Washington Examiner that Harris’ office appeared to have violated the Supreme Court’s 1963 Brady v. Maryland decision. The ruling held that prosecutors must turn over potentially exculpatory evidence to the defense.
I remember seeing a quote a while ago from some judge/prosecutor about how the prosecutor is an odd fellow in the legal system. A gov prosecutor's job isn't to win the case - it's to find the truth. They are equally supposed to be on the defense's side as well as the prosecution's.
