Mormon leaders get their ideas from the “Temple” priesthood. It comes from the top down, and these guys are celestial big shots. The “absolute faith” of Mormon teaching sustains the idea of its superiority and ultimate victory over all other belief systems on earth. This is a well polished, smooth running machine. Much to be admired here, but the foundational assumptions are wrong. Smith sensed a need to return to biblical practices but he had no source material to work with; so he made it up.
