I doubt this will go over well in northern states that have long, cold winters. Can you imagine having to heat your home with electric (meaning the furnace isn't fired by natural gas or oil)? Here in southern NJ, where our winters are nothing like upstate NY, Minn., Michigan etc, the average home heated with electricity gets a $500+ monthly electric bill. Compare that to a combined $250 for gas and electric. On top of that, under the Rats proposals, electricity prices are going to triple. No thanks.
