I got arrested in vermont for an open wood fire. It was big enough to cook hotdogs, but too small for hamburgers. That county outlawed open wood fires, only gas grills. And they’re liming the frigging lake (maidstone). For those unaware.. wood ash + rain water = lime.

The two greatest boons to mankind are the internal combustion engine and the electrical power grid. These two things have improved the living conditions of millions in the last century.
Both of these are largely sourced by fossil fuel. The intention of the Left/Democrats/Biden (and the rest) is to destroy what has been such a gift to mankind.
You are correct, fossils have nothing to do with it, and it’s actually a renewable resource.

That methane and water molecules seep up from the Mantle, or deeper, and is converted, with heat and pressure, into petroleum, and is only trapped in places where impervious sedimentary capstones like ancient swamps do not allow passage. Slate, coal, fouls the petroleum, with various impurities, leading to the idea that the swamp came first.
We must ignore the finding that old oil wells that were pumped dry, and have been capped, are sometimes slowly refilling...

Fossil fuels (starting with coal) allowed us to get out of the caves and transport ourselves, heating our homes, etc. The New Left wants to put us back into caves.
When a demonstrably better alternative comes along, Americans will flock to it. But it has to be developed and proven-out first, which is done through creative entrepreneurial innovation and research, not shortsighted ideological political mandates by tree-hugging leftists trying to buy votes.

Can you imagine a hurricane evacuation with everyone driving electric cars? Hundreds of thousands of people all trying to top off the charge before they leave? Then they get stuck on the road in a huge traffic jam in sweltering heat and have no place to recharge.
Ok, Joe...and what are we going to use to heat homes in New England? Solar? Going to help shovel snow off a rooftop solar panel?
