May I suggest, that kids should only smoke corn silk, and hide behind the barn when they engage in the activity.
I’d like to know what percent of Tobacco users are dying vs what percent of vapers under similar time frames.
For it’s part the FDA said early on that we didn’t know what the long term effects of the vaping chemicals would be.
My guess, FWIW, is that there will be a particularly nasty contaminant in the liquid capsules. Either a biological contaminant, like that which caused “Legionniare’s Disease,” or a chemical one, like a high concentration of formaldehyde.
In either case, the lungs provide a good site for injection into the body of something that shouldn’t be there.
The frenzy over this is rapidly becoming as bad as the anti gun frenzy.None of it makes sense.
Nicophobe nonsense!
The latest word from the CDC seems to be that the people that are getting sick are folks using THC vapes. There is a warning against buying ones that are not made by legal processors (like in Kali or Colorado).
I guess the black market dealers figured out how to make there own THC vapes...just not how to do it well.
Some vape mixtures contain a particular chemical that’s causing this problem. Vaping is much, much less dangerous than smoking. This is pure propoganda.
It takes 20 to 50 years before smoking cigarettes will kill you. It takes a couple of months before you die from vaping.
Flavored vapes were just banned in Michigan.
a lot of these people that get sick are using weed......
But let me guess, the politicians have a "solution" and I'm sure it involves new taxes.
Why hasn't ALCOHOL been banned? /s
It’s the marijuana cartridges that are responsible for the majority of the illnesses. Though some cases are reported from e-cig use alone, most of the illnesses are reported from people who vape marijuana, or vape both mj and nicotine.
With the THC products, who knows what they cut them with - probably all kinds of other other oils, with vitamin E oil, propylene glycol, glycerin, etc. I would guess that the major nicotine vape brands (e.g. phillip morris) have very strict quality control but still I have no clue what’s in them. And while some states have regulated the THC cartridge makers, I would guess that the market for them includes a large number of black marketeers with very poor quality control. I know you can buy them in NYC on the streets and in small shops and it’s not legal there. In theory anyone could extract THC oil from the plants using a cold press or a chemical extraction - but they would need to dilute/mix them with who knows what else.
Not to mention, it’s vapor - e.g. water. So is anyone surprised if symptoms of pneumonia appear after prolonged use?
3 people are dead. 450 cases of mysterious lung illness.
I never smoked but though the e-cigarette was a great invention since it eliminated breathing in combustion products.
I never thought about vaporized or atomized oils being sucked into the lungs where they condense and accumulate.
It sounds like a serious drawback of the e-cigs.
The big white puff of steam users blow out is pretty disgusting.
AFAIK vaping was promoted at first as less risky than cigarettes and even as a way to wean off smoking.
Now the horror stories.
I have a relative who vapes. On the phone he sounds like he’s gurgling swamp muck. In person he looks awful.
Let's see what the government support for the Marijuana market produces.
Subjecting the natural body to unnatural substances and/or practices can have seriously adverse consequences. This should be absolutely zero surprise to any adult.
Violate Natural Law at your own risk.
