I can bet half of my social security check that China will try to keep negotiating until November 2020. So long as China is “negotiating” Trump can not simply stop the negotiations because of political optics & effect on stock market.

Such a stupid take you have. As if Trump isn't winning his slow war on them. It's like you haven't been paying attention, or you are so blinded with your own silliness, you actually believe Trump is doing this only for optics, and not to win a better deal for all of us.

The bond market determines the interest rate that Treasury debt has to pay on its paper. The current 10 yr Treasury yield is 1.56%

The only rate that the Fed can set is the Discount Rate, the rate commercial banks have to pay to borrow money directly from the Fed. The current discount rate is 2.75%, at the lower end of the sweet spot that the Fed likes it in.

Hahaha I will believe you when the China trade deal is signed! Please do not hold your breath, because Trump & other repubs will need your vote next year.

As for who has the best chance to win the trade war with China, our president holds all the trumps. Because the country with trade deficits is usually in a better position to win. So yes, China is already losing the trade war due to tariffs. We can out tariff them by a factor of 4:1. POTUS will not cancel the talks. It will give democrats a huge talking point. Watch China keep negotiating past November 2020.

My only point with treasury bonds is that it is the safest place to park your money until election day 2020. As you are well aware, bond value is unlikely to deteriorate if interest rate does not go UP. CD’s are of course safer but rates are lower than T-bonds.

Looking back, I lucked out by buying a whole bunch of E-bonds starting way back in 1991. They are all paying 4% currently, tax deferred! Only reason I was buying them is to place surplus cash in something tax deferred.

I suggested to one employer that they were wide open to data theft. Even by domestic companies. I told the local guys. I should have only told corporate. There were guys up there with functioning brains.

Partner, you did the right thing but I think that these Corporate folks do not even care what happens to this great country of ours unless they are truly American.

We have CEO's in American companies that will never have the values of us Americans. I have seen this over and over again. These foreigners rule these companies with an iron fist and getting the great American $$$. We even have foreigners that are managers and they are so ignorant of what is going on in this great country of ours since they are probably members of the Rat party.

We really need Americans that have strong American values to be the CEO of a company in the U.S.

It seems like these foreigners that are CEO's of American companies do not care or they are completely ignorant of what is going on since all they care about is the quarterly results.

Meanwhile as we speak, the Chicoms are continuing their cheating, stealing and copying of our technology and our products. Sad to say this.

President Trump is correct in saying that we need to stop all trading with the Chicoms right now.

BTW, I saw the assembly line built in China by GM and it was shocking to see this since a lot of ingenuity and American know how went into building this assembly line. "The CEO of GM must be fired since she gave this technology to the Chicoms free!!!" She is just terrible as the CEO of GMC. The workers of GM probably already know this fact.

BTW, I have seen this Ferris Bueller movie about 100 times so far and I never get tired of watching this show.

After an hour+ on the phone with the CEO (after I resigned) I believe he had no idea what was going on there. He was basically as new as I was. It was the local guys; the I/T people in the home office knew the place was a mess and didn’t know how to fix it. I took a shot and even brought in a guy I knew. We got some things fixed but not the big one.

The local guys were completely clueless as to how an I/T system should be built, documented, protected, etc. The worst part was you couldn’t tell them anything without them freaking out and blaming you for their own error.

One idiot was basically blaming me for the ransomware virus THEY got from an outside contact. Of course I told them WHY they were vulnerable to attacks (at least 2 immediate solutions to the problem). Oh they didn’t want to hear that.

They were like 5-year-olds. And you couldn’t do anything with them. What normal I/T shops accept as standard practices were completely-foreign to these people.

I have never seen anything like it, in any I/T shop across a very broad spectrum. So I didn’t expect what I was walking into.
