Lived in the LA basin for a year back in 1976. My work took me from Long Beach to San Berdo and all points in between. The air quality sucked to the point that you could taste it ... I had a chronic sore throat (off & on) the entire year I lived in the LA area. In more recent years when business/personal travel takes me back to LA I've noticed a much improved air quality.

One of the many CRIMINAL ACTS by our media is to NOT tell the public where we’ve been successful. If you ask people in much of the country whether the air is cleaner, they’ll say it’s not...thanks to the media. I remember about 20 years ago, Honda pointed out that their cars now had cleaner air coming out of their tailpipes than going into their engines, at least on bad days in California. That says a hell of a lot, and how many people have ANY IDEA just how clean the newer cars are?
