Residents of Galena purchased a one-way airplane ticket for a woman believed to be dealing drugs as a way of fighting the spread of narcotics there, a report said.
About 40 residents gathered at the airport last week and sent a representative to an arriving plane to tell a woman they believed to be a methamphetamine dealer that they would pay her $210 airfare to leave, The Anchorage Daily News reported Saturday.
The woman chose to remain on the plane and take a departing flight after being told she would be closely watched if she remained.
Drug dealers are known to residents of the 475-member community 270 miles west of Fairbanks, said Mayor Nolan Aloysius. Nonetheless, community members encounter legal difficulties in stopping their activities.

She will be back with her ‘handlers’ and Big City Lawyers and sue the city and individuals for putting her out of work and harassing her.
Interesting. On the one hand it is the right of the people of the town to shun those who flaunt the laws and wreak havoc on the lives of others. On the other hand it is hard to defeat drug abuse by fighting the supply.
What they should have done was to tell her if she did not stop that she would feed a hungry wolf or wolves. Now she will return with her lawyer or her lawyer and gang and they will be a world of hurt.
The only permanent solution is the 3S solution.
There was a time when a convicted murderer would be executed within a matter of weeks.
It seems good, but will it solve the problem? It also seems that the addicts will find ways. Can’t help but wonder if more powerful drugs in far larger quantities are the solution, if those drugs might be incorporated into all of the softer “recreational” drugs perceived to be harmless. Turn the whole drug popularity paradigm into a national zombie fest all at once. That way, many would be gone, and the remainder would be more easily identified (doing the zombie dance and getting more tattoos).
