So very glad the government will save me from EVERY malady facing humanity! Kill switches for boating is completely unnecessary. For jet skis? Sure, makes sense. But for boats? Absolutely not. And I’ve owned and operated both.

Just more insane nanny state nonsense put into place because the do-gooders simply must reward themselves with the personal satisfaction of “doing something”.

Texas has unfortunately had many recent experiences with boaters who proved the opposite, ending with bystanders being severely injured or killed. Boater gets drunk, falls overboard or just passes out and falls over, boat becomes unguided missile.

I fell out of a boat while driving when I hit a “silent” wake just as I started a turn. It was the first ride of the season and the one time I wasn’t wearing the kill switch. The boat flipped completely upside down, throwing me into the water. No telling how far it would have gone if it hadn’t flipped. As it was, I surfaced just in time to see the prop stop spinning.

Meanwhile, no crash effort to implement desalinization plants to alleviate the state water shortage.

No efforts to build more power capabilities.

No efforts to mainline the homeless back into society.

No effort to get our deficit budgets under control.

No effort to put an end to the negative impacts of illegal aliens on our local, regional, state, and federal infrastructure.

The big problems in the state get no attention.

Instead they continually address minor issues and herald them as some of the most brilliant ideas since sliced bread.

Sadly some of our own people fall for it hook line and sinker.

“Kill switches for boating is completely unnecessary”

Wrong.

I agree.

The government of California wakes up every day desperately searching for another law to pass!

In Texas, we give the bastards 6 months every other year! This leaves us with one year of complete peace unless the governor calls a special session.
