A Middlesex County man is in police custody after several pipe bomb-like devices were found near the route of a Labor Day parade that the governor was set to attend Monday.
Officials detained a man on Monday morning after they found “over half a dozen” devices on his large property near South Plainfield’s Labor Day Parade route, according to a senior law enforcement official with the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.

The official described the suspect as a “rogue individual” in his 50s who liked explosives.

Mentioned an M-80. Many years ago (decades ago) my dad had a construction size wheel barrow, very heavy, thick metal, not like the yard and garden barrows. There was 5 to 6 inches of water in the wheel barrow due to recent rains.
I ran by, lit an M80 and threw it in the barrow. The fuses on M80s (and cherry bombs) used to continue to burn under water. It sank to the bottom and when it exploded it put about a two inch crack in the bottom of the wheel barrow. The pressure from the water had directed the force downwards and split some pretty thick steel.

Also think ‘we’ should stay on the tack of a possible connection of the ‘shootings’ being tied to Ritalin and other lets not let boys be boys ‘calming’ drugs that are being administered freely with about as much supervision as the ‘free lunch’ program.
How near is near the parade? How did anyone know they were there? How small were they? What exactly were their purpose? Was he goofing around since they wouldn't endanger anyone or was he blowing up varmint holes. Is a rogue individual someone who the neighbors wanted to be red flagged?
What does “pipe bomb like” mean? He had a watering system in the yard and some nails in the nearby garage?
Well, there you go. A cooler with fireworks is NOT a pipe bomb. Time to ban all holidays.
