Deep State: Lisa Page, Peter Strzok Conducted FBI’s Review to Classify Comey’s Memos

NEW YORK — Former FBI employees Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, the once romantically-linked duo infamous for their anti-Trump text messages, conducted the initial agency review of disgraced ex-FBI chief James Comey’s memos to determine whether the documents contained any potentially classified information.

Working on the initial classification review with Page and Strzok was another member of Comey’s inner circle, James A. Baker, the former FBI general counsel.

Those details were contained inside the report released last Thursday by the Justice Department’s inspector-general.

The IG report related that Strzok characterized himself, Page, Baker, and the Unit Chief of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Law Unit in the FBI’s Office of General Counsel as a “logical subset to sit and go through” Comey’s memos memorializing his conversations with Trump to determine classification.

Strzok told the FBI that it made sense that this team conducted the initial classification review because the members had a lot of “history and experience of working investigations relating to … the disclosure of classified information,” including the FBI’s Clinton email investigation.

That would be the same Clinton email investigation that became the subject of a separate 500-plus page IG report in June 2018 that was highly critical of actions taken by Comey and his team.

NOT automatically classified? = NOT be automatically classified?

REMINDER US intel is there to protect the safety and security of Americans. It is not a political tool.

Under Democrats, US intel is a political tool. If you have a problem with that, then Hillary and/or Obama will send people to explain the finer points to you/sarc

Alex Jones had this on a couple of days ago. He pointed out they were provided a bunch of memos of Coney’s. And then asked to classify them appropriately. Any that he had shared were deemed “not classified” into secret categories. The game was deliberately rigged to ensure Comey shared nothing classified by first figuring out what he had disseminated.

I encourage you to read the Comey IG Report. Your theory is inconsistent with the Comey IG Report.

May 16, 2017. Comey sends a copy of Memo 4 to Daniel Richman (Comey IG Report p. 13).
June 1-6, 2017. The FBI conducts a classification review on all seven memos(Comey IG Report pp. 13-14).
June 7, 2017. Comey reviews the memos with the classification markings on the, but does not reveal to the FBI that he had sent copies of Memos 2, 4, 6, and 7 to his attorneys (Comey IG Report p. 14).
June 8, 2017. Comey reveals that he sent a copy of Memo 4 to Richman during his testimony before Congress (Comey IG Report p. 14).
June 9, 2017/ After interviewing Richman around June 9, 2017, the FBI learns that Comey's attorneys have copies of Memos 2, 4, 6, and 7 (Comey IG Report p. 14).

Why do you say the FBI figured out which memos Comey had disseminated BEFORE it completed the classification review process? Your statement seems directly debunked by the Comey IG Report.

In what world of actual rule of law would such a private, official meeting between a high-ranking Intelligence Community Director and a President-Elect - which included information that the Director implied should not be made public - NOT automatically classified?

Isn't that exactly what happened? Comey classified Memo 1 as SECRET/NOFORN/ORCON when he created it. See Comey IG Report page 10.

I will rephrase:

If it had happened to Obama, none of these charades, including the IG reports, would have been needed or proffered. There would have been no debate more than two years after the act.

Their ethical compass is seriously maladjusted

And the balances are on tilt and the checks bounced.

What difference would it make?

I am reading Comedy wrote two original memos everyone time he wanted to document something.
One went to James Rybicki for filing.
One went home to his safe.

Now, who’s to say the memos had the same content?
When the SHTF, Comedy pulls out his memo and claims the Rybicki version is a fake

unprecedented attack on a presidential candidate.

It is an attack on free elections.
