I don't think of Bernie Sanders as Jewish. He may have been born into a Jewish family, but the man has moved so far away from the Jewish faith as to make any connection to Judaism ridiculous. The man is just a socialist, that's all.

I may be confused about Jews who want a socialist Utopia on Planet Earth and consider the ideas of Karl Marx to be ultra important. I thought most Jews voted Democrat because the Democrats are trying to create a socialist Utopia and as such are in keeping with Jewish ideals. I therefore must be confused about why Jews chose to vote Democrat. I did hear that the Jews of Eastern Europe were admiring Communism and therefore the USA placed a law on the books to keep those Jews out of the USA. Then Hitler came to power and a boatload of Jews tried to escape Europe and FDR refused to allow them entry to the USA.

We have a similar problem in the Orthodox Church with Greeks (and other ethnicities) who are “cultural Orthodox”—show up only for Holy Days and Memorial Services and are generally loud and disruptive when they do.
