Where have you been all of my life? All the errors and mistakes I could have avoided! Oy Vey!
Michael was the single largest agricultural disaster in FL history.
Just uncorked a magnum California Cabernet Sauvignon 2016. Going to enjoy the next 48 hours here in Tampa. Cheers!
All those things ARE worth putting your life at risk for. I’m pretty sure you know I meant replaceable physical things. Personally, I would die right now, this second, for principle. Life without principle is worthless. Strip away all the meaningless crap that defines our shallow culture, and all you are left with that is worth anything is love, faith, compassion, principle, and the drive to make yourself better each and every day.
F*** 4K and 8K televisions. F*** 512 GB phones with 5g. F*** Teslas, or any other vehicle. Without principle, love, spirituality, and faith, none of it matters at all - in the slightest. So yes, I’d give my life without any regret, in a nanosecond, for my child, for God, for innocents in the world, and for principle.
That said, I truly don’t want anyone hurt in this hurricane. I’ve never been through a big one, but have been on the outskirts of one and had a huge oak tree come down on my house. Luckily it missed my roof and destroyed my chimney, air conditioner, and deck instead. I have really deep respect for what they can do.
The tracker I just looked at showed Dorian chugging north offshore from the Florida coast. It would be great if Florida avoids a direct hit, but probably bad news for Jax and points north.
“I thought the storm had turned north? Has it turned to Florida again?”
See post 973, says landfall in Central or North Florida now.

People who ignore ANY cyclone dont know what theyre doing.
“100 megaton nuke?” We don’t have one.
Largest ever detonated, by the Russkies, was 100 megatons.
It was called the “Tsar Bomba.”
GTS
One big problem would be that the storm would then spew radioactive junk/rain/ over a huge area of populated land.
Not a good idea.
Most recent tract prediction is for the eyewall to head north somewhere between Bahamas and SE Florida coast and skirt the Atlantic coast going up the peninsula.
But of course that could change at any moment. This thing is only advancing at 5 mph. It has time to turn north and stay off land.
I live in the middle of the peninsula west of St. Augustine. We expect high winds and heavy rains no matter what.
Too complicated.
I’d rather see Dorian make a bee line for DC & sit over DC for a month.
In stable, belly-to-earth position, terminal velocity is about 200 km/h (120 mph). Stable freefall head down position has a terminal speed of 240290 km/h (around 150180 mph). Further minimization of drag by streamlining the body allows for speeds in the vicinity of 500 km/h (310 mph).
Point taken.
I live in Panama City Florida and so does my son and family. We stayed during Michael. Big mistake, never again. My son lost his house, total loss. They were huddled in a bathroom when the roof blew off, all survived. It was estimated that there were over 500 mini tornadoes embedded in the hurricane that did the most significant damage. Panama City, Tyndall AFB, and Mexico beach will never be the same for many years to come. We were very lucky that there were not many more deaths than the total which was about 35 in Florida panhandle. The pressure was unbelievable. Windows in my house blew out from the inside out due to pressure difference. Eardrums felt like they were gonna burst.
Honestly no one would care except the media if DC flooded under a 20 foot storm surge and killed everything.
Wed just say God works in mysterious ways.
How ‘bout a strategic strike to place most of the fallout over Broward County?
How do you know that we don’t have a 100 megaton nuke? If we don’t we could borrow one from Russia. That would really piss off the Rats.
How charitable.
I live in Broward county
Sorry....too filled with memories of Bush v. Gore 2000 and David “Piggee” Hogg.
You got a tractor?
Cause you couldn’t yank a nail outta my butt right now and I’m gonna need a tractor when this is over.
Tracks show it still curving north and off the coast but instead of 150 miles out, it’s withing 60 or so miles (eye) which will mean a lot of rain and possible Cat winds if all holds as predicted...
