The Lies of the New York Times' 1619 Project
American Thinker ^ | 08/31/2019 | By Marc A. Scaringi

The New York Times “1619 Project” is being lauded by the media and many Democrats for what they believe is a long overdue discovery of the hidden truth of America -- that it was founded on white racism and the enslavement of blacks, and that even today the belief in white racial supremacy is so endemic to America that it’s a part of our national DNA. The Project will likely be used to advance policies in Washington, D.C. and throughout the country that purport to remedy this alleged injustice. Democratic presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Kamala Harris (D-Cal.) has already called the Project a “master-piece.” But is it?

First, it’s hard to take its claims seriously when its creators and contributors are privileged blacks holding exalted positions in journalism, the media, and academia owned and controlled largely by whites. The Project’s creator, Nikole Hannah-Jones, is a black reporter employed by the white-owned New York Times.

She holds a 2017 fellowship with the MacArthur Foundation, which was founded and endowed by a white man, in which she received a $625,000 no-strings-attached grant. She’s doing pretty well as a black woman in what she claims is a white, racist America. And, ironically, even though she condemns white America for its alleged systematic discrimination against blacks, she demanded that whites be excluded from the Project.

Second, Hannah-Jones had dedicated her career to writing about racial inequality. She had previously stated that whites are as racist today as our forefathers, but that we’ve adapted over time to cover our racism with a “sheen of deniability,” and that from Jamestown to today, racial inequality is an intentional act by whites against blacks. So, Hannah-Jones came to this Project with a particular point of view.

It’s important to note that no one who cares about this was REMOTELY thinking of voting for Trump or facing reality

msm and special interest groups are like hollywood now. Self congratulatory and patting each other on the backs.

Because no one else is.

What a dork. The little colonies at Jamestown died as a result of malaria. It wasn’t whites who were prejudiced, it was the British. White French existed in the canadian eastern seaboard 100 years before the British set sail in the 1600’s. The French had no problems getting along with the natives. They blended right in through marriage, baptisms and trade.

The Fulani Emirate - an Islamic tribe that enslaved other tribes and sold them as slaves. Yet this is never mentioned.

American Indians had slavery of other tribes, and yet this is never mentioned.

The unmentionables are very interesting....

The Lies of the New York Times’ 1619 Project...:

A few months ago, I started posting this little historical exercise about Slavery in pre America:

Slavery was, not yet a reality, even in any British Royal American Colonies by 1619.

1619: The year, the first Endentured Africans, not slaves, were brought to Jamestown, is drilled into students’ memories, but overemphasizing this date distorts history!

Jamestown was not an American colony nor even a British Colony at that time, 1619.

https://www.history.com/topics/black-history/slavery

Before going to the link above, everyone, ask yourself a simple question:

In what year did the former British/American Colonies, become America/the USA and recognized by the world powers as America.

Hint, It was not in 1619.

1783! America’s independence was recognized by Britain in 1783.

The Emancipation Proclamation was in 1863, 80 years after we became a recognized country.

This year,2019, will make freedom from Slavery/1863, for 156 years in America, the USA. Thanks to the The Emancipation Proclamation being declared in 1863.

The US had legal slavery for 80 years! Liberal liars scream “400 years” of slavery, and it is a complete lie.

At this point, blacks in today’s America, have been free for much longer than their ancestors were slaves! (nearly twice as long).

*How many union soldiers died to free the Slaves: - Quora:

*Approximately 110,000 Union Soldiers died due to battle-related causes during the Civil War. Around 250,000 died of disease. Yes, you were more likely to die of illness later than on the battlefield. The deadliest battle for both sides was the infamous Battle of Gettysburg, totaling more than 50,000 casualties.

“Hannah-Jones came to this Project with a particular point of view.”

Yeah, it’s called racism.

Hannah-Jones. Mmmmm. It appears to me that she is using a, tried and true, scam to put money in her bank account.
The scam is to push your way onto or into a “Foundation,” preferable founded by a white man, and milk it with either a phony project or a dubious goal that sounds good but is a nothing burger. The MacArthur Foundation, in this case.

Another black scam artist used Walter Annenberg’s foundation to begin his climb to the White Hut. Initials BHO.
She is a rotter just like the ex-pres.

Indeed, Hannah-Jones is race obsessed, so she’s a racist. Racial hatred is another issue, which she also possesses in abundance.

When I see this sort of agitprop, I can only think of Mohamed Ali’s comment after his 1974 Zaire “Rumble in he Jungle”: “I sure am glad my grand daddy got on that boat”. He should be even more glad grandpa got on the boat to the now-USA, instead of to other Western Hemisphere destinations where a majority of the black slaves went and died.

"1619: The year, the first Endentured Africans, not slaves, were brought to Jamestown,..."

Thank you for pointing out that fact. Prior to 1619 there were white Brits that came to Jamestowne as indentured servants. They couldn't afford the passage, someone else paid their way, and they had to pay off the debt through their labor.

Many if not most of us had ancestors who immigrated here as endentured servants both white and blacks.

They had to work for basically nothing to pay off those who paid their way to America.

As practiced in the colonies, slavery was a British institution. While not allowed in Great Britain, it was very profitable for its monarchs and merchants.

It’s why I brush off the accusations and implied guilt.

80 years.

You’d think we had it from day one till now.

I’m sure what we know to be slavery is only a partial definition of what they consider “slavery”.

i.e., not making the same average income as if that’s our fault

Great stats, i didn’t know many. thanks

Thanks, I started posting this basic info about 3 months ago.

I’m a fairy good genealogist and historian. The math is there to tear their story to shreds.

I personally have 3% African blood in my DNA. My ancestor that I can trace was a female Free Negro. How they classified non slave blacks. She lived in Virginia, Maryland and the SC area as Free Nancy. One of her neighbors in SC was a doctor in the census just before the civil war.

3 percent is actually a lot.

You have a bona fide black ancestor in the Americas

Don’t think many white people can say that.

it’s not 1/3444334th like the squaw :)
