I only have to worry about my SIL who is certifiable.

Fortunately, the local PD, Sheriff, and FBI already have her flagged.

In college, someone called a 'check well-being' on me. I found out later who it was, they did it out of genuine concern, I was going through some pretty severe depression at the time.

Two female cops showed up at my door, saying they got a check well-being call. I said my being was well, they said okay, and left. No questions about guns or anything.

I suspect such a meeting would go a little differently today.

Nor would it make any difference to the police. The complaint, or report will be all they need.

In this state (CO) yeah, any ‘transfer’, even between family members, has to go through a FFL. That’s one of the stupid laws the sheriffs here won’t enforce.

Certainly his Estate should go elsewhere and the will should contain a phrase along the lines of “I intentionally make no provision herein for (names of relatives), who for all purposes . . . shall be deemed to have predeceased me”.

Hence the call for "Red Flag" laws - they want family members, neighbors, acquaintances, co-workers, to turn us in as "dangerous" to give them the impetus to descend on us with SWAT teams.

I have a homosexual younger brother who would love to call the police on me because I have denounced his self-destructive life choices.

Obviously it happened. Why and how it happened probably could be fought over in court. In any event, the old man is screwed. The best he can hope for is that pipe bomb charge will be dropped and he will be allowed to return home. Once the police have his guns, unless he has a lot of political pull and a lot of money to spend, he is not going to get his guns and other things back. And if he had the political pull, he probably would not have gotten raided.

That's it exactly. Folks at risk of this thuggish behavior need to change their wills to trigger a change in inheritance should a "red flag" event take place. False accusations of "suicidal tendencies" or whatever means the will automatically redirects an inheritance entirely to the NRA or other pro-gun right organization. I'm not a lawyer myself, but I'm sure there's a way to write such a conditional provision.

The man should notify his relatives that he has changed his will to give ALL his estate to the NRA.

That is good to hear. And I have to kick myself for taking what the media says as fact again. Wouldn’t “walking back” a story be considered the thing as saying, “We lied”?

The entire Constitution is a nuisance to them. They could not do away with it. So they just ignore it, unless it suits their purpose. And they get away with ignoring it ,too.

My hubby is depressed. Has been for many years. He won’t admit it or even tell anyone because.....that would be admitting some kind of failure... to him. But I would never ever ask for a wellness check on him. I just leave him alone with his chair, tv, and iPad and go about my business. On the other side....I have a friend that was a drinker. Awhile after her hubby died I went over there and she wouldn’t open the door. Had her daughter, who lives out of town, call in for a wellness check. I was there when the police showed up. She wouldn’t open the door for them either. She talked to them through the door. They told me......nothing we can do. She wound up being found on the floor almost dead from drinking.

I would suspect that there will soon be a LOT of relatives removed from the will.

You’d think he’d want to defend both yours and his rights. It’s hard to fix stupid.

Now days a “Pipe Bomb” can be any spare plumbing parts you might happen to have in your garage that might be assembled into a pipe bomb, even if they are not actually assembled into one. If you do any reloading just a capped can of propellant can be classified as a “bomb” at their discretion and opinion.

There is some great dishonesty happening now considering evidence that is found, they just make up whatever they want to to render completely legal materials into huge illegal situations by using false definitions and classifications.

Accusing someone of mental instability if pure communist. We must stop this now else the police have effectively become the enemy of free people.

He can make a large donation to the NRA now - forget about a contested will.
