The left has systematically deprived the people of every single institution, apart from the military, which traditionally helped people keep themselves, their politicians and the nation in check. This is my cue to ride my favorite hobby horse, the Frankfurt School. The pernicious ideology of the school has metastasized throughout our educational establishment and leached out into the populace to the degree that, as a society, our whole epistemology has been wrecked.

We no longer know what we know or why we know it. Considering this only from a secular rather than from a spiritual point of view, we have no building blocks left upon which to grow a decent and civil society. When the younger generation cannot define socialism but knows only that it wants it, we are looking at a people who are unmoored from fundamental economic concepts, history and even from current events.

The threat to our Republic remains as Franklin identified it, not from external enemies but from within.

At first, I was surprised that President Trump endorsed Toll Road Tommy Tillis in the upcoming primary election, but it makes political sense.

To me, Tillis always smelled like a swamp creature with a price and perhaps with his endorsement President Trump buys Tillis and his support ... for now ... as we see here.

I “assume” Tommy is just looking for ways to look good in primary voters’ eyes and this is one of them.

Probably just me, but his outrage about this almost seems out of character. I could easily see him being on the other side of it and being just as outraged.

NC politics are a mess and I look forward to the primary.
