Two Democratic-led California counties asked a federal court on Wednesday to immediately block the Trump administration's so-called "public charge" regulation, saying fearful immigrants in their diverse communities are foregoing essential health and social benefits as a direct result of the rule's scheduled implementation in October...
...Santa Clara County health officer Sara Cody said many newcomers and immigrants in her community find it difficult to distinguish between the federal government and state and local governments. Because of this, she said staff in the different county-run programs have reported a "general fear" among immigrants who worry that using any benefits will jeopardize their immigration cases or those of their families...
...The rule would affect immigrants in the U.S. who are not citizens or permanent residents as well as people seeking to come to the country from abroad but researchers have already detailed a "spillover effect" in which both green card holders and U.S. citizens reported avoiding public benefits because of the proposal's expected implementation.

It’s not really a new rule, it has been law for a long time, just unenforced.
Does the resurrection of the “public charge” rule mean if they already took benefits they will be denied next renewal?
I hope so.
I’ll take any good news I can get.
It’s no mistake that in the dictionary “foreigner” comes before “freeloader.”
Scum and filth, every last one of them.

So? Get an effing job!
Self repatriate!
...Santa Clara County health officer Sara Cody...
I thought it said Santa CLAUS County. I thought the author was being snarky.
What about their communities makes them diverse? They all vote exactly the same. They only eat their own food. All have brown hair and brown eyes like 90% of humans on earth. What is diverse? What about melanin concentration makes somebody more diverser than others?
Good, now get them out of my country.
We have a more than ample supply of home grown moochers. We have no need to import more. Further, you can be poor in El Salvador or Somalia for a lot less than here.
4 or 5 decades or so ago, servicemen like me wanting to come home on leave, or for any valid reason, could fly on US Military planes for free as long as there was an empty seat. This was commonly known as “Flying Standby”.
I think the Trumpster should persuade the various airlines flying south that any “immigrant” that shows up at the airport, who can prove his ID so that we aren’t subsidizing criminal escape, can otherwise fly back to Mexico on any unsold seat an airline has.
Now, I waited a week at Yokota Air Base in Japan in 1969 but if it’s good enough for servicemen it’s good enough for illegal aliens.
I’d consider letting all of the criminals escape at this point, secure the border so they can’t come back and let anyone who wants to leave.
We have 20-30 Million of them to get rid of at a minimum.
Buying the “Illegal Alien Vote” with taxpayer’s money is going to be more difficult unless they can block this rule.
Legal citizens and legal resident aliens should have nothing to fear (but should have all their legal identification papers handy just to avoid screw-ups which happen).
All the way.
If you come to this country, you should not be eligible for a single public program ....Period.....!
OH, and GTFOoH
They’re not ‘’immigrants’’. They’re bordering jumping criminals who’ve come here to sponge off the social welfare system.
I hear ya...
Works for me...
My suggested plan won’t cost anything and we get rid of the armies of them that can’t walk south a thousand miles.
