Only if youre woke! Lol
Whatever happened to the saying, put on your big girl panties?
This special generation of wimmens is NOT gonna like what life throws at them when they decide to marry. And I can say this as a woman myself.
Future cat ladies
This whine sounds remarkably similar to trannies complaining that straight men don’t see them as women and won’t date them.
Office romances are now extinct. Sad. A lot of good marriages came out of that. Great way to get to know someone in everyday, good & bad day life.
Feminazis have hurt women.
I work in employee benefits and yep, most people I deal with are women in HR departments.
Back in the old days I would take a woman HR head to a business lunch all the time. No longer.
When I hit my 50’s I really started to be hit upon by these women I work with. I chalk it up to women in their 50’s dealing with midlife crisis or unhappy marriage.
I hear you. My husband and I met at work. We’ve been married since 1983.
Interesting comment
I go lots of places and visit both offices and shops. Always, the watercoolers are gathering dust.
I suspect the gossip place is now the wireless copy machine where people gather while waiting for someone’s book to print out.
Terrified?
Sadly, even considering all the situations you list, men’s default mode needs to be wary and/or terrified. Just because a woman is lazy, incompetent, a troublemaker, and has BO doesn’t mean she can’t concoct untrue accusations. Lies about a co-worker could ruin a man, destroy his family, and bankrupt him. The thought of that possibly happening is terrifying - or should be.
Working from home is a great option for some.
I observe it happening more, as a result of this issue. Bosses dont mind, it removes this potential problem, and removes drivetime risk, also.
Absolutely.
Same with my sister. Happened a lot.
“. . . terrified to be alone in a room with a woman.”
I’d say, given the times we are living in, that men are damn smart to NOT “. . . be alone in a room with a woman” not their wife.
VPOTUS is setting a good example!
Congratulations on your marriage success. We have just celebrated our 34th. Success either maritally or professionally happens when opposites treat each other with respect but also patience, tolerance and willingness to learn and change.
Never in the office alone with the door closed with a student of either sex. If a student is in my office, the door is open. Never alone in a car with a student.
Make sure everyone knows it.
Best defense is being able to prove you were NEVER alone with someone.
AS we saw with Justice Kavenaugh, men are also being punished for #metoo.
:)
The author's credentials as an analyst just went ker-plunk! Here's a jar of M&M's, my dear. One of them is poisoned. How many of them are you going to eat? Are you "punishing" the good ones by avoiding them all?
I had one job where I was always out of the loop on what was going on because my supervisor was a smoker and I’m not.
I would always be the last to hear the gossip, getting it third-hand from one of the other employees who smoked.
The entire information exchange was outside in the parking lot where the smokers took their cigarette breaks together. I was never there.
” men dont want to be seen alone with a woman and get Kavanaughd.”
Well, strictly speaking, you don’t need to have ever been alone with the woman or even have met her to be “Kavanaugh’d”.
I started working for IBM in 1985. There was a rule that if a manager was meeting alone with a member of the opposite sex, the managers office door had to stay open.
Where I work now, all managers offices have one entire wall thats made of glass, or if thats not possible, the managers office door has a good-sized window in it.
We also now have an entire HR Compliance department whose only purpose is to investigate employee complaints about sexual harassment, general harassment, bullying behavior, etc.
I am actually glad we have this department because they thoroughly investigate and deal with abusive and sleazy employeesfront line and management. They look at EVERYTHING when they investigate: video from hidden security cameras, emails, content in company cell phones and computers, social media activity, lots of witness interviews.
There was a nasty @sshole I had to work with for years, he was a classic workplace bully, treated me and a lot of other employees very badly. There was probably 6 or 7 times when I went to my management (men) and to his management (men). All the men shrugged their shoulders and made excuses for his bad behavior(literally: Hes not all bad, Hes the best engineer we have, blah blah BLAH ) About 8 years ago he bullied and humiliated me in front of others for the last time. I went to my new manager, a woman, and she was horrified by this guys behavior and the fact that his good old boy network repeatedly looked the other way. She made sure HR investigated this bully, and he retired within three months of the investigation.
Thank you for the kind words...it takes a special person to put up with me for all these decades.
And congratulations to you as well.
