House Judiciary Committee subpoenas former White House aide Rob Porter

The House Judiciary Committee issued a subpoena Monday to Rob Porter, a former White House aide whose close proximity to President Donald Trump is potentially of significant value to Democratic lawmakers amid growing calls for a formal impeachment inquiry.

Porter, who served as White House staff secretary for just over a year, is one of the administration officials cited most often in former special counsel Robert Mueller’s report in the Russia investigation. He spent about 20 hours being interviewed by Mueller’s team, and the final report documents his role in episodes detailed as part of the obstruction of justice investigation.

The Mueller report, citing interviews with Porter, documents how the president directed Porter to order former White House counsel Don McGahn to write a letter disputing a New York Times story that he had ordered McGahn to terminate Mueller.

McGahn “shrugged off” the request, Porter recalled to the special counsel’s team, saying the Times report was true.

“As I’ve said before, any other American would have been prosecuted based on the evidence Special Counsel Mueller uncovered in his report," House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said in a statement announcing the move. "Rob Porter was prominently featured in the Special Counsel’s description of President Trump’s efforts to obstruct justice by directing then-White House Counsel Don McGahn to fire the Special Counsel, and then ordering him to lie about it."

Mr. Nadler, Special Counsel Mueller clearly didn’t’ run his investigation, and his performance at your hearing demonstrated that to the public. Not only that, but he hired people who were actively engaged in a soft ‘coup’ that began well before Trump entered office. Further, Mueller LIED to congress concerning the CIA’s involvement in the entrapment of individuals, Russian private citizens, and completely refused to investigate a probable political murder—Seth Rich. You sir, Mr.Nadler, are a partisan hack and IMHO co-conspirator to bring down an duly elected government by using taxpayer money illegally by multiple agencies including but not limited to the State Department, CIA, FBI, Homeland security, IRS, and EPA willingly against the Constitution and the Republic. Someone CANNOT obstruct justice if they committed no crime, which you now admit Trump clearly never colluded with the Russians as claimed. However, Trump was clearly trying to Obstruct Injustice and deny those involved with Sedition the opportunity to benefit from their contempt of the US Constitution and the Republic. You, whom must side with the party of Treason and Sedition feels that these activities are ‘illegal’ while I feel that this is the Responsibility of the Executive branch and the POTUS.

Mr. Nadler, where is your outrage against the Democrats whom destroyed evidence, servers, obstructed FBI investigations, eliminated exculpatory information, used the CIA for operations on US soil, and illegally plotted against the sitting POTUS?
