In the past few months Drazkowksi has rocketed from conservative backbencher to a leading Minnesota critic of the Somali-born lawmaker, repeatedly raising questions about potential immigration, tax and campaign violations charges that have taken hold in conservative media nationwide.
His most recent news conference, on Thursday, came amid an international dust-up over the Israeli governments decision acquiescing to Trumps request to bar Omar, an outspoken critic of Israels treatment of Palestinians, from entering the country.
The multiple controversies surrounding Omar also have helped elevate Drazkowski from a family shoe-store owner from Mazeppa, Minn., to perhaps one of the best-known state legislators in Minnesota.

Farm kids tend to do well. They have experience in hard work and long days from an early age and don’t shrink away from it. It’s almost an advantage.
I’ve met him before. He’s anything but a backbencher. He actively participates in floor debate and has no problem mixing it up with the Demoncrats.
In fact, him and three other members of the state House GOP caucus were so bothered at the leadership’s lack of focus on taxes and spending, that they broke away and formed a separate caucus on the floor of the House.
