How sad, but, true.
I’d trade the interesting past for more wealth and stability now.
Memories don’t pay the bills.
But a lot of great stories do get thrown around.
Had an offer at 35 to move to Texas with boss who was moving there to start a new job and offered me one.
I HATE the heat. And what’s worse, I LOVE the autumn and even some winter.
So it’s not just hiding from the heat in an AC.
It’s missing my favorite season.
That being said, YES I ####ED UP by not going.

A man’s priorities are his own and yours and mine are the same regarding the interesting stories compared to current situations. If you are happy with where you are living, can do things for fun instead of just paying bills, and are close to your people, it sounds like you made a decent choice and did not F it up, really.

A “sap” was always a heavy hard object (like a few rolls of pennies) instead a flexible, non-rigid container (like a thick athletic sock). Purpose made saps were leather pouches with lead weights sewn into them. Sean Penn putting 6 cans of soda into a pillow case was improvising an INDUSTRIAL SIZED sap that he used to turn the tables on two guys about to thump him in a scene from the movie Bad Boys made in the mid-80’s.
