Next years G-7 meeting is set to be held in Doral, Florida, a senior administration official told Fox News, after President Trump made a strong pitch over the weekend to world leaders to have the summit at his resort outside of Miami.
Trump himself also strongly suggested Monday that next years meeting will be held at his Trump National Doral Golf Club, as he hyped the propertys close proximity to Miamis airport and the facilities available for the staff of world leaders and the press.
With Doral, we have a series of magnificent buildings, we call them bungalows, Trump said during a press conference in France. We have incredible conference rooms, incredible restaurants, its, like, such a natural.
He added: Each country can have their own villa.
Trump has apparently been pushing for months to have his Doral resort host the 2020 G-7 meeting, but his advisers have cautioned against it amid concerns about the ethics of the president personally profiting off an official government event.
My people looked at 12 sites, Trump said. They went to places all over the country and came back and said this is the place.'"

Let’s be hyper honest with ourselves here. If a Clinton, an Obama or a Kennedy or name-your-Dim suggested hosting G-7 at a property they owned we would rightly howl ten ways to Sunday. More evidence of the imperfection of the vessel, however strong the message it carries.
Unless he donates all revenues to the US Treasury. In which case, what do they protest?
This is the wrong time of the year to be in Miami...heat, humidity, hurricanes. Jan-Apr would be just right.
The president needs to get the cost involved for every other facility, then undercut them. Make it public. Show the taxpayers how much he’s saving them.
All of these summits are held at resorts.
Im going to guess Trumps properties are already hardened and equipped for security including staff and faciities
But if taxpayers want to rent a whole different resort and build all the security required, to make liberals happy, then go for it,
“Unless he donates all revenues to the US Treasury. In which case, what do they protest?”
Not all revenues, all profits maybe.
Even if he doesn’t I don’t see a problem with it other than optics. If it’s the best place to have it, have it there. I’m guessing it eventually won’t happen there, but time will tell.
It doesn't matter how much he claims to undercut them. It's still hundreds of thousands of dollars in his pocket and he used the power of his office to put it there. Can't you see the field day the Democrats would make of that three months before the election?
The PR alone from holding it there would be huge.
It is just a bad idea all around. Even bringing up in suggestion could be seen as pitching his property, whether or not he actually believes it could or would happen.
I suppose you’re right. I keep thinking logically, and it just doesn’t seem to apply anywhere where dems are involved.
Trump can host it during his next term at the Trump Greenland Resort. Not a lot of local distractions and the travel arrangements would be too cumbersome for protesters.
The Fox News story seems to indicate it's a done deal.
I’d suggest Greenland... They have “bungalows” there also...
Don’t the Clintons charge the govt $10,000 a month for the secret service to stay at their home?
Day-before-yesterday, nuking hurricanes was about to be a "done" deal...
As long as they never have to leave the grounds and MIA closes its diagonal runway, then it’s a nice place.
Dont forget a scramble event on the Blue Monster!!!
I agree. We would not like it if this was Obama or Clinton’s or any other Democrat President.
By law the Secret Service has to pay rent for any part of a former-President's property they need to use for their activities. So they pay rent to Clinton, to Obama, to Bush, and to Carter. And when President Trump leaves office and goes back home to Trump Tower then the Secret Service will be renting space there as well.
Trump has divested himself of his businesses.
