Tom Cotton would be a good President.

Tom Cotton leans toward the Ryan side of the GOP. Likes to stand upon principles when there are no risks involved. Would not characterize him as a RINO but he can lean that way at times.

Even if this was his idea, Reagan said you can get a lot of things done if you don’t care who gets the credit. This is why POTUS is always gracious when speaking of others when doing the art of the deal!

My preference would be, Cotton kept his mouth shut until the deal was done.. as I recall when asked, President Trump did say the idea had been discussed...not that he initiated the idea.

Except he shoots off his mouth when it makes no sense.
Who first wanted to buy Alaska?
William Seward.
Not last year, but in 1868.
He did manage to buy Alaska.
His little pidley one upsmanship pales next to Seward’s.
