That’s on the writer. You don’t expect the media to tell the story accurately do you?

We are told to be 'wise as serpents', and the mass media is a pit full of vipers. This 'story' would have never been told had Cotton kept his mouth shut... HE wanted attention and so he has it... good, bad, or indifferent.

This all reminds me of Janis Joplin asking the lord to buy her a Mercedes Benz maybe I’ll try to write Greenland into the song.

Actually, it was MY idea. Back in the early 1980’s, some friends and I were in a bar at college talking about how cool it would be to own a private island and I suggested Greenland.

OK, so we were drinking but the idea still counts, doesn’t it?

Maybe Disney could turn it into a theme park

China is moving towards becoming the leading world power militarily. If Denmark cannot deal with China’s efforts to take over the mineral resources and military control, let them sell Greenland to America who can. It is for their best interests.

Yup. Mentioned and tried twice before. Well known fact.

Old idea really
https://time.com/5653894/trump-greenland-history/

It wouldn’t even be the first time the U.S. has tried to bag Greenland. Back in 1946, officials offered Denmark $100 million in gold bars for the world’s largest island, a Danish autonomous territory. U.S. officials at the time thought it was a “military necessity.”

That 1946 offer was supposed to be a secret. (It was only widely revealed in 1991)

China is actively trying to take Greenland. The Thule base there is ours. China must be stopped at all costs.

Typical of Rinos, vote R on most issues, but when something essential comes up, vote with the Ds. Sad that they fool so many. That is the problem with Conservative score card sites. They look good on the surface.

Talk Business & Politics CEO Roby Brock— his bland line of questioning the guests on his program is a renowned mannerism—sheer agony to my ears.
John Brummett and Roby Brock appearing together on the same program is sheer awfulness.

It doesn’t really matter who thought up the scheme, Denmark doesn’t want to sell and there is no evidence the people of Greenland are interested in being acquired so it’s a dead issue.

Nah - the Title makes it sound like he’s afraid Trump is taking credit for the idea...and CVotton is letting everyone know he is on board with it so as to not alienate him from Trump in either of their constituent bases.
The fact that Trump aired it shows he supports what Cotton came up with and was willing to shoulder any flak.
If/when it ever goes through, you can bet Trump will have Cotton beside him when the announcement happens.

Believe me the media will spend tales based on what any Republican says and no matter what they say. You might as well try to argue that Trump should shut up because the media will write phony stories if he doesn’t.

The USA has wanted to own Greenland since the 1800’s.
