TRUMP IS RIGHT! China Is In Terrible Economic Condition; Cannot Afford to Lose the US Market
GP ^ | 08/24/2019 | Joe Hoft

President Trump yesterday announced that the US will increase tariffs on China and then ordered all US firms to begin seeking alternatives to doing business with China!

The Chinese regime is in a lethal position and has only two choices.

The regime can either give the US what it wants or perish.

President Trump recognizes that China is in an all out war with the US in regards to information and economics. For years Western leaders have done nothing but negotiate into weak positions, never standing up to the Communist regime. Former US Presidents treated China like they did Russia 50 years ago, as their superior always giving them what they wanted and never standing up to their abuse and criminal acts.

It is different with President Trump. The President knows he has the authority and ability to inflict a fatal blow to the Chinese economy. The US is arguably in its best economic period in history while China’s economy is its weakest in 30 years.

I agree with Trump regarding his assessment of China’s economic condition. But what about ours?

Bear in mind that we’re doing fine...great in fact. Our economy is on fire, China’s is melting down. More bank and finance officials are fired every week due to corruption and malfeasance and there are credible reports they may have OVER stated their GDP significantly - i.e. lied.

More importantly with respect to the trade war is the China food shortage. We may be paying a little more for China-made goods but they are running out of food to eat. Not only because of the tariffs and their leadership’s stupid bullheadedness, but they are being hit by a devastating insect attack and African Swine Fever that some say could kill as much as 40-50% of their pigs. That’s a problem in a nation where pork is the #1 source of protein.

A reference: https://www.globalresearch.ca/china-food-crisis-more-dangerous-than-trade-war/5677967

But they have already blinked, purchasing a smaller quantity of US soybeans last week afte swearing they would not do so:

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/china-buys-american-soybeans-after-vowing-to-boycott-u-s-farm-products/

Think about it...this shows they are in trouble.

Implied in all articles is the assumption that China is monolithically in favor of defeating the USA

In addition to old, hard line communits party diehards, I believe there are younger business people that likely want an outcome that will allow their businesses to exist in some changed manner. The young guys have prospered because the old status quo has already changed

I think that there is now internal turbulance between the die hards and the young guys.

Evidence? None. Pure gut feeling

More importantly with respect to the trade war is the China food shortage.

You forget that China is willing to let its people starve for ideology. They've done it before, and will do it again.

Trump is fighting the “wars” that we should have been fighting for many years, not the ones involving guns and blood.

Guess this means the Democrat party will be spouting off about how Pres. Trump has put us in such a difficult position regarding trade with China. They seem to be doing a better job assuring their not getting elected than the Republicans ever could.

Also, we KNOW the “paper of record” NYTimes is willing to assist in any coverup for a country’s strategy of forced starvation. THEY have done it before - Duranty.

It's not generational. There are plenty of older CCP members who desperately want and need the economic success to continue. They cannot stay in power for very long without the growth... unless they have another bloody event like Tiannenmen Square... and even that is no guarantee. The hard-liners (of every age) have no concept of a China without The Party, and they feel like they can do anything. A large part of the Party leadership behaves like petulant and self-deluded 9 year olds... but plenty of others are rational, and know that the economic growth is the ONLY thing preventing large-scale protests and riots from ripping them from power... and putting their heads on pikes.

I wonder if after getting a glimpse of what they might have if the people would let the government do that. Just wondering...

This is how the Goths created the fall of Rome August 24 (today), but in 410 AD.

The Goths cut off the food supply and the peasants in Rome rebelled against the elites.

Of course, Trump is right about China. And of course they need us more than we need them. And of course we can win a trade war with them.

What I do worry about though is that the economy is bumpy 12 months from now, we might end up with a President Biden... or even worse.

agreed, also there is a large uber rich class that despite what the exalted leader thinks actually controls the country and if he keeps this up he might find himself in the same condition as many former Clinton associates.
