Well I’m not that old really- I’m not well physically- several conditions- which exhaust the body and unfortunately the mind too (Docs claim that a couple of hte conditions are Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia- I have my doubts though as i don’t have what they call the ‘tender points’ and ‘trigger points’ that htose two conditions are suppsoed to have- but the symptoms I’m goign through certain do mimic both those conditions- it’s been a frustrating 25 year long search for hte answer and solution- )

I can’t take creatine of fish oil- allergic to fish, and creatine beleive it or not makes the muscle burning pain worse- but i can take and have taken ginko, as well as Co Q 10 and actually many different herbs, minerals and vitamins over hte years- spent many $1000’s of dollars, consumed some of hte nastiest tasting, smelling stuff o nthe planet it seems in search of a cure- ended up with bleedign ulcer that nearly took my life- was a very close call- it was gross- went into convenience store bathroom- regained consciousness wedged between toilet and wall and blood was literally from floor to ceiling- I have no idea how it got on ceiling-

Needless to say- I quit experimenting with that kind of stuff because ya never know what kind of side effects they could have- I have an autoimmune condition which acts up if it gets stimulated by things that ‘boost the immune system’ and this isn’t good for my condition- I was unaware of such things when i was experimenting- and also later learned that certain herbs can be detrimental to organs like kidneys and liver and gall bladder etc- and some things can be detrimental when combined with other herbs etc-

Ya gotta be careful- gotta really research stuff and see if there are any documented side effects- and really, there aren’t a whole lot of peer reviewed scientific research into many of these things- many claim there is, but upon further research, their ‘research’ turns out to be non peer reviewed and very small studies which are really meaningless and contain much anecdotal ‘evidences’ ie “I began chewing Chia seeds and my gums stopped bleeding- so therefore chia seeds cure bleeding gums’ when in reality, the person change their lifestyles, ate more healthy , stopped taking other stuff that very well coulda been cause of bleeding gums- but they attribute hte cessation solely to chia seeds-

There’s direct effects, and then there’s indirect effects which we don’t know much about- I’m leery of ‘all natural’ claims- simply because the people pushing them don’t have any kinds of chemical knowledge, or biological knowledge etc- and haven’t studiously and carefully researched the plants they are selling etc-

Of course certain herbs and minerals etc are perfectly fine- but many aren’t

Like the ‘stone busters’ out there- they tout certain herb for breaking up kidney stones, but again, the evidence is anecdotal- some folks take it, they pass the stone days later, and think the stuff they took ‘broke it up’ when the fact is they woudl have passed the stone in same amount of time and it woudla broke up as it passed through urinary tubes anyways- and come to find out, that stuff they took is dangerous if the people had any kind of gall bladder problems- but the advertisements for the stuff never mentioned that fact-

I was desperate for a ‘cure’ as i was quite young when I was taken ill- and I got suckered into a LOT of claims and wasted $1000’s of dollars unfortunately- before i wised up-

but again- that’s not to say some stuff didn’t work- they did- to an extent- just never enough to justify the cost and keep taking it- I was never able to regain what i had lost- not even close- cost/benefit ratio-

I hope you find a lasting cure.
I try to follow what I think makes sense.
Eat natural foods (perimeter of store), exercise, have fun, have sex, increase knowledge (intellectual & religious/philosophy) and sleep.
Anything serious, I’m definitely going western medicine.
