surveillance plane over the city almost constantly, recording high-resolution video of the activity on the streets

There are multiple satellites looking down on us and every city on a continuous basis, They must not be on speaking terms with the NSA, but the NSA would never admit it anyway.

Did the mob or a drug cartel make the Mayor and Police Commissioner an offer they couldn’t refuse? That’s the ONLY thing that would explain such seeming idiocy.

When I am speaking to somebody in my home, even if I am using the telephone or I send somebody an e-mail, I am (usually) expecting that to be a private communication.

So if you are outside sitting in your car talking on your phone or sending an e-mail, that is fair game?

In modern times,no American enemy has ever bombed and basically destroyed, almost post apocalyptic, any American city. The American left/DNC has done just that and we just look at it as normal.

The first amendment gives people the right

None of the amendments give people anything.

They merely state existing rights with which the government is not to interfere.

I don’t want to change the subject, but I am watching The Five and a few minutes they had a line up from CNN saying Cuomo questions President Trump’s lack of aging. Did you ever hear something so ridiculous

This was developed to be used in a war zone, not to be used on our own citizens. A refresher, read my original post. They now have developed this for use with balloons. What f’n country am I living in now? http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3463712/posts?page=1

If we have problems with the NSA recording our communications

Reinstate the pre July 93 version of USSID 18 and enforce it.

Problem solved.

“Huge difference to watching you when you are out on the street versus watching or listening to you while you are sitting in your own home calling grandma.”

Absolutely correct!

Only Google and the government can listen to you while you are sitting in your own home calling grandma.

The only complaints were from the local ACLU and Feral Defense Bar Association. A majority of the poor people who live in the ghettos would praise anything that works to make their lives a little less dangerous. A few of the Less Than Fence Post and Box of Rocks Combined elected officials will dance on the puppet strings controlled by the above mentioned entities. If Randy Newman were still alive, he’d have a tough time updating his classic.

Baltimore needs a few PTIDS- tethered blimps with cameras floating over the city.

What changed then? I’m sure I flipped through it, but it’s been a long time?

So if you are outside sitting in your car talking on your phone or sending an e-mail, that is fair game?

Yes. If you are in public and someone witnesses what was in your email, or overhears your conversation.

However, if the police want the contents of your email/phone conversation, and there are no witnesses privy to the contents and willing to testify - you are protected by the 4th Amendment and the police must obtain a warrant. The courts (including SCOTUS) routinely uphold you have NO expectation of privacy in a public space. This is precisely why you have the legal right to video police/people in public, have a dash cam, etc.

Surveillance plane overflights effective in fighting crime? Why in the world would the Baltimore Democrats want to do that?

I’m quickly running out of sympathy for the city of Baltimore. They’ve got a violent crime rate that makes some war zones look safe and if they can’t take yes for an answer when a free solution comes along, perhaps they deserve their fate.

Well, you know, the city leadership is nothing but of the highest quality.

Capturing my image and seeing where I go when I am outside of my home is fair game. Eavesdropping on my phone calls or e-mails, even if I am using my cell phone from my car, retain an expectation of privacy.

You can't make this sh*t up. They turn down a PHILANTHROPY-SUPPORTED aerial surveillance system, in spite of its potential to catch criminals. Geesh, if yew civil liberaltarians wanna whine, just go down to Virginia and look at those white lines crossing interstates. Those white lines are used by AERIAL SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS to catch speeders, who can be dangerous when going well above highway speed.

As for Baltimore, philanthropy will have to be part of the solution to rebuild the place, if anybody is actually interested. Lord only knows, the city fathers certainly can't afford it, even with their onerous income and property taxes. And also the Baltimore version of letting Africa sink, along with rigorous police enforcement and the tearing up, urine-soaking and burning of any consent decrees, would help.

Maryland "Freak State" PING!
