They’ve tried to recruit Elway a few times. He doesn’t want to take the pay cut.

According to my family members who live in Colorado, Hickenshitter has no greater chance to take the seat than any other democrat who might get the nomination. Why? Because hard-core democrats are going to vote for the party candidate no matter the nominee. The two key variables are independent voters and the Cal-holes who have invaded the state. If Trumps supporters go to the polls in mass, then Gardner will hold the seat.

Also keep in mind that in his first run for governor, Hickenshitter only got 51% of the vote, and in his second run, he only received 49% of the vote in winning by a plurality.
