Honestly, the only reason I have any support for the HK protestors at all is because I want Communism in China deader than a doornail, and Communism unfortunately is controlling the HK police right now. Afterwards, they ought to give up on democracy, because democracy is what led directly to Communism in the first place, arguably being one and the same with it. If anything, they should bring back their Emperor (and personally, I would have preferred it if China established a Christian theocracy).

I’m of two minds. On the one hand, it would greatly please me to see Xi Jinping dangling from the nearest lamp post. On the other, it’s not clear that democracy for an ancient land with a world conquering philosophy would be good for the rest of us. Communism is why China has been held back for decades. To the extent the communists continue to hold China back, long live the CPC.
