Dems' Latest Strategy: Trump's Addicted To Twitter!
Townhall.com ^ | August 20, 2019 | Timothy Meads

The Democrats are pretty desperate to beat President Donald J. Trump in 2020. He just packed a stadium in New Hampshire last week. His crowd attendance broke the previous record set by the world-famous singer, Elton John. With stats like that, leftists are going to try just about anything to convince the American voters that the president is unfit for the job. Their latest strategy? Claiming "The Donald" is addicted to Twitter.

The Daily Beast reports that the Center for American Progress has been telling candidates the best way to beat Trump is to frame him as ineffective. The group says the easiest way to show the cause of his ineffectiveness is to blame it on his Twitter.

via Daily Beast:

One of the party’s top think tanks has been privately encouraging lawmakers and candidates to attack the president for failing to deliver on the promises he made because he’s too consumed by social media. It is, undoubtedly, the first case of a campaign tactic geared towards turning a president’s online behavior into a liability; though rarely has a president’s reliance on—and use of—a media bullhorn been such a defining personality trait. Those pushing it have offered new polling data to bolster the idea that the argument will move voters.

Indeed, Navin Nayak, executive director of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, told the Daily Beast that he thinks "only the hardest core Trump believers think he should spend more time on Twitter. But that is the reality of his presidency. For better or worse people think he spends most of his time on Twitter and the way he engages on it is mostly negative."

"Juxtaposing that becomes a very powerful way of underscoring how he has not accomplished anything economically for the American people," Nayak added. "Going after that is an effective way of attacking Trump without impugning the motives of anyone who voted for him."

True, the president tweets a lot. But the idea he hasn't been effective in the real world doesn't really add up. He's basically reshaped the judiciary, deregulated massive parts of the economy, and has had consistent real wage and job growth throughout his presidency. Likewise, Trump's Twitter feed does a lot of good for the presidency. He's pretty funny on it.

My oldest son read the Saul Alinsky book, Rules for Radicals. All these accusations against Trump are playing by Alinsky’s rules: stay on offense so you never have to play defense.

THAT is why we seemingly have a new accusation against Trump every day. And THAT is why Trump needs to not play defense. Defending against their ridiculous accusations is tacit admission.

No, that is why Trump’s Twitter is so important. He needs to go on offense and STAY on offense!!!!!!

“Addicted to Twitter?” LOL! When it comes to PDJT that’s as much of a winner as complaining about bears because they poop in the woods.

get the president to adopt the Bush policy of allowing anyone to trash him, the party, Conservatives, and policy without so much as a whimper.
Karl Rove called that "the new tone".

How'd that work out for the Bush/Rove legacy Karl?

Trumps tweets accomplish many goals.

1) Trump gets to bypass the media when he wants to communicate

2) Trump can distract the entire media and political class by intentionally saying something outrageous and while the entire political world is cackling in faux outrage about his tweet, he is free to dismantle some Obama regulation without anybody noticing. The more outrageous the tweet, the bigger the action he is concealing in plain sight

3) he can tweet about something that is not yet general knowledge (at least for dems because they dont report it) and get the entire political and media cluck clucking for days about how trump was lying only for it to turn out to be true and making all of his detractors look like fools. The media buries these kind of things rapidly, but they happen so frequently that even dhims can’t help but notice over time and become exhausted from having their emotions repeatedly spiked about finally getting Trump to lucy and the football. So not only does an intentionally ignored story get reported, but the people hiding it look like fools

So, I say let Trump tweet all he wants.

Sad thing it, it may have worked out exactly like they wanted it to.

I don’t think their ilk give a damn if the Republican (loosel Conservatives) exist at all.

Maybe they thought it was the way to bring on the modern one world governance.

I sure don’t put it past them.

If you think about it, he gets his message out much more clear than if folks had to see him fight with the press to make a simple statement.

There’s no spin. It’s just his unvarnished truth, right or wrong. But as has been said many times, he just toys with them. He says something they take the way they want, and his of course is actually saying something the polar opposite.

They call it lying, but the only lie was in their wishful thinking to themselves.

I know he can tweet all he wants. I do wonder if the tweets and all the rest of the fighting are taking a toll as his polling numbers lately are declining. Rasmussen had him at 51 percent approval a few weeks ago and today he is at 44 percent. The trend is downward and I worry about that type of trend.

I do note that we had that Dow blip last week and the shootings a few weeks ago. But, I know many of my friends and relatives who are long time GOP supporters are pretty tired of it all.

This is not about President Trump, it is about his supporters. The attack is on his supporters who are stripped of their connection to the President. The Fake Media then can close down the truth so they can continue with their propaganda operation without opposition. The ultimate goal is to denigrate Trump’s supporters so that the public will avoid any association with them. Without Twitter, his supporters will be smeared without anyone to defend them.

“Hasn’t that been their pitch since November of 2016?”

not really. the original pitch right after he was elected was that Trump was a dangerous, incompetent, mentally ill, buffoon clown ... of course they didn’t stop to question the validity of any of that when their heads started exploding on a daily basis as Trump fulfilled his first 100 campaign promises during his first 100 days in office ...

“Left, which claims to be so educated and smart compared to the average “mouth breather who votes republican” still haven’t figured out that Trump has been playing them like a fiddle for the last 4 years”

that’s one of the most amazing aspects of the Dem’s total collapse. namely, always reacting to Trump’s bait, and endig up doing in pretty much every case exactly what Trump wanted them to do ... a good example, being Trump’s manipulating the Jihad Squad into being the new face of the Dem party

and btw, Trump’s main strategy is to use the Dem’s hatred of him to his advantage, namely, he frames his political stances in a manner that provokes the media and their Dem subsidiary to attack him, but their attacks always end up in putting them in untenable situations ...

Trump is the most cunning and manipulative politician I’ve seen in my lifetime, and is definitely in the top half dozen of the canniest politicians in U.S. history ...
