Brexit Secretary Signs Order To Scrap 1972 Brussels Act - Ending All EU Law In The UK
Gov.UK ^ | 08/18/19

Posted on 08/18/2019 3:20:07 PM PDT by Enlightened1

The 1972 Act is the vehicle that sees regulations flow into UK law directly from the EU’s lawmaking bodies in Brussels.

The announcement of the Act’s repeal marks a historic step in returning lawmaking powers from Brussels to the UK. We are taking back control of our laws, as the public voted for in 2016.

The repeal of the European Communities Act 1972 will take effect when Britain formally leaves the EU on October 31.

Speaking after signing the legislation that will crystallise in law the upcoming repeal of the ECA, the Secretary of State for Exiting the EU Steve Barclay said:

This is a clear signal to the people of this country that there is no turning back - we are leaving the EU as promised on October 31, whatever the circumstances - delivering on the instructions given to us in 2016.

The votes of 17.4 million people deciding to leave the EU is the greatest democratic mandate ever given to any UK Government. Politicians cannot choose which public votes they wish to respect. Parliament has already voted to leave on 31 October. The signing of this legislation ensures that the EU Withdrawal Act will repeal the European Communities Act 1972 on exit day.

The ECA saw countless EU regulations flowing directly into UK law for decades, and any government serious about leaving on October 31 should show their commitment to repealing it.

That is what we are doing by setting in motion that repeal. This is a landmark moment in taking back control of our laws from Brussels.

“You DO realise that Socialists hate the EU, don’t you? They see it as a capitalist club and want to see the end of it. Corbyn, for example, has always wanted out.”

Who cares what Corbyn thinks. His is a provincial opinion based on wanting his Party’s brand of socialism to rule Britannia. Competing interests with the EU. They are still all a bunch of socialists in policy, the EU and Corbyn and his socialist Party.

Like China the EU espouses capitalism as long as they control it by tons of rules and regulations through centralization, and then are a bunch of commie/fascist/pinko/socialist Libs when it comes to social control of the “masses” and imposition of more and more PC baloney.

Fie on all of them, a bunch of gov’t control freaks, and that’s what is looking the U.K. in the face if they don’t BREXIT. Either you are for the U.K’s sovereignty or you aren’t, in which case you are a Globalist and not a Nationalist and a Populist for the U.K. citizens. You are the equivalent of RINO’s, establishment types or Never Trumpers who think Trump is a “clown” too, and not for America First. Not a stance for you to be proud of.

but post 155 wasn’t and isn’t about history - the UK still “runs the show” as a veto-holding member of the EU.

you say “the EU did move to put the UK in its place” — err.. HOW?

This is what Nick Wright, Head of communications, Communist party of Britain wrote
Communists share Clement Attlee’s visceral opposition to Euro-federalism and the surrender of our country’s sovereignty. To this we add a long history of opposition to the actually existing slash-and-burn capitalist economics that has stripped our country of productive industry and deprived generations of young people of productive skills.

It is precisely because we want an alternative to Britain’s crazily unbalanced and financialised economy that we campaigned for Britain to leave the neoliberal EU and in doing so free ourselves from the anti-union judgments of the ECJ, the restrictions on state aid to industry, the obstacles to public ownership and the drive to militarise the EU.

The EU is an irreformable instrument for impoverishing the continental periphery and the working people of each country to the benefit of a predatory class whose wealth increases with every one of capitalism’s succeeding crises.

Communists want a People’s Brexit. Unconstrained by EU treaties, single market rules and directives, a left-led Labour government could develop a worker-led industrial strategy; aid industry, invest in training, youth and jobs, social welfare, housing, education and health services; and take the transport, energy and postal service profiteers back into public ownership.

you say “Corbyn’s is a provincial opinion” — I thought LEAVE was supposed to be a nationalist opinion, now you say it is a provincial opinion?

Of which province?

And you say that the EU controls capitalism by tons of rules and regularization — do you really think the US doesn’t have rules and regulations? Far less yes, but it still does have rules around trade, standards etc.

And centralization - yes, too much for a confederation, but still far less than a union of nations like the UK

Seriously - can you give real examples of what you state that isn’t true for the UK and the USA as well?

as i’ve said before - do NOT compare Trump to BoJo. Trump was a successful businessman and he kept his promises. BoJodidn’t do that when he was foreigne secretary.

Ask the Brits, they’re the ones who want out of the EU.

Why? Because Germany offers the best welfare along with Sweden. Denmark doesn’t and neither does Central europe.
Germany: Refugees integrated into labor market 'quicker than expected'

The Institute for Employment Research has revealed that approximately 400,000 refugees will be in work before the end of the year. The agency is "quite satifsifed" with migrants' assimilation into the labor market.

Don’t police visit doors of people who have posted “hate” against Muslims. Radicals take the box in Hyde Parke to proclaim their hate for infidels. Isn’t Tommy Robinson in prison for trying to shine the light on rampant Muslim on child rape? 1000 women and girls plight was ignored. And this all under a so called ‘Conservative” government.

Yes, but compared to the USA and even Canada, the Muslims in the UK are far more radicalized. And the media is in all out denial. They can’t even use the M word, using the nonsense description “Asian”. In some ways so typical British. Anyone “over there” is an “Asian” just like they referred to Italians as “Wily Oriental People”.

Just on the ‘Asian’ usage, which is routinely misunderstood by observers from the U.S.
It precedes by many decades the presence of significant numbers of Muslims in the UK. It’s simply the colloquial, especially media shorthand for any of the brown-skinned peoples originating from the Indian sub-Continent. It continues to be used of all such, whether they’re Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Christian or whatever. It originated from the time when people from the former British India were the only people from the continent of Asia to be seen in any numbers in Britain. It is not, and never has been, a euphemism for Muslim.
Muslims not originating from the Indian sub-Continent aren’t referred to as Asians: though of course the UK Muslim population still originates principally from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India, along with smaller numbers from parts of East and West Africa, Malaysia and a few from the Middle East. None of those latter groups would be referred to in the British media as ‘Asian’.

C, nice insight and comments.

As to the question of why population substitution, the answer is applied cosmetic gene therapies.

How many genes and/or expressions do you think determines eye color, hair color/texture, skin tone, etc? Would you be surprised the number is quite few, and the promise of being able to change (superficial) appearance is poised to become a large part of the personal appearance market?

Now for the larger goal: IQ improvement. Consider nations investing in the modern "moon shot" by being able to move avg population IQ levels 1 std deviation: no more religion (or at least primitive tribal versions). So, like any good breeding program, the existing spoiled, demanding and entitled subjects will be cross-bred and/or replaced with a more determined, less privileged class willing to work hard for little/less pay.

And yet, at the end of the day, they will still be agnostic, have blonde eye/hair, posses even/fair skin tone, and will be peaceful and complacent. If you were an elite, you most assuredly would be in favor of this type of human animal husbandry. And so, that is of course what they are doing.

No, he isn’t. He’s in prison for contempt of court, and actions which risked the collapse of the trials of the very criminals whose crimes he purported to expose. The series of trials of the perpetrators whose victims were the ‘1000 women and girls’ you mention. Trials which the defence did indeed seek - fortunately unsuccessfully - to have cancelled as a result of Mr Robinson’s activities. A lengthy series of linked trials, brought to court after years of painstaking work by police, local authorities and child support agencies to assemble evidence which would stand up in court - a challenge with any rape prosecution, doubly so when child victims and witnesses are involved. The victims whose plight you say were ‘ignored’.

I don’t think what you said is completely true. Time and again the BBC refuses to use the word “Muslim” when the perpetrator clearly is so, and says “Asian” instead.

It didn't. We had a much better deal on EU membership than any other country in the EU, including Germany.

There are two Brits on this thread and both think the leave is a mistake. I’m asking you why YOU say “the EU did move to put the UK”.

You wrote it so I thought you had your reasons besides hearing someone else say something

British “Asians” are folks from the Indian subcontinent, whether Hindus, Muslim or Sikh or Christian.
