Wish I could help you with replacing Flimsey Tinkerbelle. We have open primaries in South Carolina which allows Democrats to pick the Republican of their choice.
That’s how Flimsey can say “the Second Amendment is not a suicide pact” and get away with it.
Then we have Congressthing James Clyburn. His Sixth district is the largest in the state through gerrymandering, majority black & indifferent to white constituents. He will die in office.

The reason most have to get back to their rifle, is that it has no sling, and they set it against a tree or rock. With a sling, take it with you and the handgun.
It’s not just for protection in a civil war against a tyrannical government, but also a deterrent to discourage a representative government from becoming tyrannical, as well as an early warning that tyranny may be coming when your representative government starts talking about removing that deterrent.

I had some hunting rifles that I sold in the 70s when I decided that I didn’t really have time to make hunting a priority any more, raising a family etc., Winchester model 70s. Before the fishing accident I had several firearms of the self protection variety I’m still trying to decide if at my age it’s worth getting a sig DMR for those special long range shots.
The first time I gave my AR to my daughter to shoot (she was about 16) I gave her one round at a time to make sure she could handle it and do everything safely.
Then I put a few more rounds in it, and telling her to squeeze them off slowly, one at a time.
20 minutes later she was going 30 at a time as fast as she could - hitting the large coffee can at 150 feet more often than not.
It SHOULD have a sling. And spare magazines. And web gear to carry it all.

I remember an old article from fifty five years ago about the AR-15, showing a Sargent holding one up with the buttstock against his lips. He pops off a magazine full, and no damage to his lips or face. Try that with an M-14.
I found the M-16 to have no recoil in my military days.
