The mayor of El Paso claims that President Trump referred to him as a “RINO” — aka “Republican in Name Only” — during his visit to the grieving Texas city last week after the Walmart shooting.
The condemnation allegedly came during a private meeting and stemmed from a disagreement the two had back in February over Trump’s proposed border wall.
“He said, ‘You’re a RINO,’ and I said, ‘No, sir. I am not a RINO,’ ” recalled Mayor Dee Margo in an interview for PBS’ “Frontline.”
“I said … ‘I simply corrected the misinformation you were given by [the Texas] attorney general, and that’s all I did,’ ” Margo explained.
The term RINO is typically used by Republicans to blast people within the party who do not always agree with conservatives. Margo and Trump had gotten into a dispute over the border wall following the president’s State of the Union address — in which he claimed El Paso saw a dip in crime after the installation of a border fence.
“Now, with a powerful barrier in place, El Paso is one of our safest cities,” Trump said.
Margo called the president’s assessment “wrong” and insisted that El Paso had been safe — “going back to 2005.”
“El Paso was NEVER one of the MOST dangerous cities in the US,” the mayor tweeted after Trump’s SOTU address. “We‘ve had a fence for 10 years and it has impacted illegal immigration and curbed criminal activity. It is NOT the sole deterrent. Law enforcement in our community continues to keep us safe.”
Trump fired back at Margo, saying he was “full of crap.”
“I don’t care if a mayor is a Republican or a Democrat,” Trump said. “They’re full of crap when they say it hasn’t made a big difference.”

So the mayor is calling the Texas attorney general a liar?
What is a “Republican” anymore? If we judge from the leadership, it’s not pretty.
Lots of people use imprecise descriptions, not because they don’t know better, but to save time.
What Trump should have said, if he had time to spare is:”Mayor Margo is typical of half of the Republican Party: an open borders, globalist cuckold.”

Sure. That’s exactly what the President said. If you believe that, I gotta a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. Runs to PBS for an interview. He should have just called the cabal of HuffPo, WaPo, MSM, NPR, Young Turks, et al to tell them the story.
This is going to be a very close election. I do not see any advantage gained by lobbing childish insults at people whose votes we may need.
This mayor has bashed our beloved President Trump many times. Where’s your outrage over the mayor or ElPaso saying Trump wasn’t welcome?
Your concern trolling is duly noted. POTUS is doing exactly what got him elected last time. Do you really think a significant swath of potential voters won’t vote for Trump because of what he might have said to this nobody Mayor from El Paso?

I could not care less. Who the F-— cares what the mayor of a city thinks. Trump is the President of the United States and needs to stop punching down. Responding to childish behavior with the same, serves no one but our enemies. The term Rino is just another way of saying “please for a Democrat.”

The Democrats ability to manufacture votes.
The Democrats ability to steal elections.

President Trump, in the midst of a mass shooting does not walk in throwing insults and I’ve lived on that border 15 of the last 30 years..... El Paso is not safe.
Hell at one time they shot across the border from mexico to El Paso like you would shoot ducks at a carnival game.
