I’m glad he’s using the “C-word.” Socialism is crushing, poverty-inducing and soul-destroying, but people for some reason think it’s something warm and fuzzy and well meaning; on the other hand, calling it what it is, Communism, makes it much harder to put a smiley face on the dictatorship, repression and terrorism that are the reality of socialism.
I’m listening to a very good book in Spanish about Communism and the beginnings of Soviet Russia, and one thing the author said is that Communism cannot exist without scarcity. He meant an artificially created scarcity that allows the state to control its population by restricting the supply of things such as food, heating fuel, electricity, etc. It then allots or rations them in a way that punishes or even destroys those who oppose the state, or is used to attack some symbolic, demonized group, such as the “kulaks” in Russia (it will probably be white males here, except of course for the leading cadre of the party, virtually all of whom are white males).
Trump has got to push the joys of abundance and individual liberty and productiveness, and show up Communism for exactly what it is, stifling, state-controlled misery.
Call it like it is.
USConstitution requires that DC keep every level of USA government in republic form of government. There is no option for a simple 51% vote to operate as socialists/communist.
