It would be difficult to argue that the political environment in America has not grown significantly more toxic and hostile over the last several years. I pointed out in my column of two weeks ago that the political left cites the culture of the Trump administration for the recent deterioration in race relations. Similarly, the left blames the culture of the Trump administration for this dramatic downturn in civility. Again (as I detailed in the earlier column), this decline actually began during the Obama administration and represents the left’s reaction to the popular rejection of socialist policies by the electorate.
The fear and desperation of those on the left cannot be understated. With the ascendency to the White House of an individual who could relate to average Americans, had the nation’s best interests at heart and who sought the dismantling of the corrupt Beltway machine, the political establishment faced a threat it had never before seen. This fear and desperation accounts for the augmented hyperbole and venom coming from the left and the incomprehensibly absurd charges being leveled against President Donald Trump and his supporters on an hourly basis.
We have never before seen as much incendiary rhetoric, calumnies and fearmongering coming from powerful Democrats and their co-conspirators in the press, the entertainment industry and the activist community. Hardly a day goes by without a prominent liberal mouthpiece citing “irrefutable evidence” that President Trump and all of his supporters are vehement racists and fascists, that the president rose to his position via dishonest and unlawful means, and that he and his supporters represent an unprecedented threat to the future of our nation.

I think if it ever came to that it would look more like Iraq or Afghanistan were you have sporadic insurgency type attacks. And bombings and political assassinations becoming daily occurrences. Eventually entire regions of the country will become defacto independent when the populace and law enforcement simply ignore laws they don't like from the central government and the central government is afraid to send in the troops to try to force the issue. You are starting to see the beginnings of such revolts in the left wing cities refusing to enforce immigration laws and the red state Sheriffs saying they won't enforce gun laws.
Civil War will happen if the communists Democrats take control of America.
It will more or less resemble Yugoslavia.
It is very easy to say “Civil War”. What does that mean? It probably won’t mean that you stop going to work and letting the state and federal government take its cut.
It oughtn’t mean just secretly breaking things or killing “bad guys” randomly.
There have to be tactics with a strategic objective. Even the libertarian “Free State Project” was a failure, in part because they picked New Hampshire, and not Wyoming or Alaska.
The government doesn’t have to go door to door for guns as things are. It just has to dissolve the mortar, and eventually the big wall of bricks falls.
There is no way that the American people will vote to defeat President Trump.
Think beyond Trump.
We’ve already had a literal coup attempt.
A huge Resistance movement would come about.
Not going to read the article but that is the stupidest headline I’ve seen in a long while.
I think dysfunction bordering on anarchy is the more likely scenario, no matter who wins next year’s election. But not civil war.

I agree. After Trump wins in 2020, the Left and their Useful Idiots are going to be a huge menace. They’ll go more berserk than ever. Civil disobedience will be the norm.

Preferable or not, CW-II WILL happen if we get a Democrat president - at least the *sshat clowns that are currently front runners.
Some of us have been saying this for several years now. The gap between the left and right is too far to ever bridge. Best to come to an amicable split than let the situation devolve further.

“Poor” people have problems with obesity.
Almost everyone, regardless of income has access to cell phones.
