I don’t know if any of the reports are true. This prison seems to certainly have a bunch of people willing to leak to the press about their supposed incompetent boobery, as well as law enforcement leaks. I wonder how much has been paid for information by the media to private individuals and how many of the leaks are official approved.
In any case one thing we should certainly eventually know is how much the guards are paid and how much they make in overtime. Supposedly this happened on the fifth day into overtime. I want to now how much this fed prison is paying in overtime. It could be one of those set ups where everyone wants to be understaffed so they can justify making obscene scratch in overtime. Or it could be they had no choice about working the overtime and aren’t paid very well. I want to know the truth, seems like it would be something easy to find out.

The guards are Fed employees, their jobs are secure. At worst, they will be transferred with a increase in salary...........not including their “bonus” for falling asleep at the correct time.
I still don’t believe a narcissist and egomaniac like Epstein would try to kill himself until at least after he was convicted and sentenced. I would expect him to play this out as long as he could, hoping to use his blackmail or really good lawyers to get out of this. He had a really strong case claiming double jeopardy get out of jail card. Unless he was taking psychotropic drugs, suicide doesn’t make sense.
If NY is anything like TX, its prisons have been understaffed for decades, so NOT Trump’s fault. The guards get time and a half so that’s a boatload of money. The ranked officers and supervisors are paid a straight salary so don’t get to benefit with overtime no matter how many hours they put in.
Don’t be too quick to judge if there was a conspiracy. There were two people on duty and one wasn’t a guard. The real guard may have been a regular snoozer who lied about making his rounds. The other person may have been relying on Officer Lazy to give them direction.

I’m not saying it’s a conspiracy. I just want to know if the overtime is a scam in this case or not. Seems like a list of wages and the amount of overtime paid at the place would be easy to find out.
I presume that almost everything we think we know in this case is from leaks and unnamed sources. Probably a combination of paid media informants and purposeful leaks. So I’m not trusting any of it.

This will be another grassy knoll and we’ll be wondering what really happened for years. Could be he’s sipping umbrella drinks on some tropical island without extradition. Or he got Arkancided. Or he was getting his jollies with erotic asphyxiation and it went wrong. Or he’d already knew he’d used his one and only get out of jail free card last time and wouldn’t get a second one. Or he knew there was a hit on him so went out on his own terms. Or didn’t like it with the tables turned and now he’d be Big Bubba’s plaything for the next 20 years.
I have thought he might have started to cooperate with the Feds just to get a lighter sentence. Even if it was a long one but still short enough to not die in prison would be something. Also, maybe cooperating would get him in some Club Fed prison and not some stricter institution. Good point on the double jeopardy. Suicide does not make sense (if it ever does)at this point in his case.
I cannot believe the guards were simply lazy or idiots. Who will locate their Swiss bank accounts?

100% agree. There is no way this guy was ready to throw in the towel. He had a huge ego, a possible defense and friends in high places.
