Someone once told me that trade wars were easy to win.
If you truly think that then you need to do some research and educate yourself.
Well a Hodie Ho Ho Ho to All!!!
Patience. Patience.
China has its collective ‘mind’ elsewhere about now.
Hong Kong is about to blow, and I think all hell may break lose. Like serious economic repercussions for China. I’m not one for overblowing news events, but this has the makings of something that may send the entire region and world economy into a real shipshow.
It may be advantageous to let a little pressure off for now.
I think youre right. Trump has his eye on these things.
If that is true, and it may well be, any speculation on why the President didn’t just say so, instead of manufacturing a false reason?
Again, IF what you say is accurate.
I thought “keeping maximum pressure” on china to force them back to the table was the strategy, no?
Also, any idea when companies located in china are going to come back here to produce and create jobs instead of relocating to Vietnam and India?
Perhaps they are back to the table and you just don’t it
You are not on the list that needs to know
Tis the season.
Business this Christmas will be hooter than ever.
Thanks, President Trump.
The President is not shy about saying many things in public, trade issues included.
Nice try bert, but if they were at the table, the whole world would know about it.
My guess is that this is for the economy outside of China when the world economically turns on them after they stomp HK to the ground.
If and when, companies will flee China like nothing anyone has seen. Easing in these imports through the rest of the year looks more like a wise defensive move.
Saying the real reasons outright now could cause market panic. I don’t think the average person is thinking about how serious this thing really is.
Saving face for the Chinese...he wants an agreement with them, he doesn’t want to humiliate them or us!
“Saying the real reasons outright now could cause market panic.”
You don’t have a problem with the President fabricating a story so as to avoid (probably temporary) turbulence in the financial markets?
He has already humiliated/insulted President Xi, several times for the world to see in fact.
President Trump is not shy about that sort of thing.
Nope.
Not when the stakes if SHTF are really high if China goes ape on HK in the next 3 months, and tens of thousands die and HK burns to the ground in full view of the planet.
Most people are not following this like they should, and will be stunned at the climax and blindsided by the fallout. They will then take that unease right to the economy.
Not sure that you go into truthful detail when trying to let a little air out of a potentially big world-affecting issue.
Wow - I’m surprised at such a cavalier attitude about being lied to, especially when the stakes are so high.
I’m sorry but I am not sure what you are saying/asking.
