I would only say to the Hong Kong protestors, that they need the rest of the people of Hong Kong and they will turn off the general Hong Kong population, not win them over, if the population - as opposed to the government of Hong Kong - are the ones who are disrupted the most.
I think the U.S. (and anyone else) cannot do too much and some things it could do would tend to implicate the U.S. as an instigator and taint the home grown nature of the protest.
I think the ONLY thing substantial the U.S. can do can’t be done until the dictatorship takes its Tiananmen Square II move. Then the U.S. can offer green cards to every citizen of Hong Kong.
“would only say to the Hong Kong protestors, that they need the rest of the people of Hong Kong and they will turn off the general Hong Kong population,”
No way.
Support is ubiquitous.
What is the population of HK? No thanks.
Are you crazy?! No way!!! We need to stop importing millions of people from around the world. Chinese, Indians, and Mexicans do not assimilate, they do not believe in our country, we don't need them. If they don't like their circumstance, let them stay home and fix it.
The video footage on Twitter is horrible.
I saw a very young man with his face pushed into a pool of his own blood with a policeman’s boot.
Young girls being beaten with batons. It really is awful.
