The Land of Lincoln will require public schools to incorporate LGBTQ figures into history lessons.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Friday signed House Bill 246, which mandates the following: “In public schools only, the teaching of history shall include a study of the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State.”
The bill, introduced by Rep. Anna Moeller, will go into effect in July.
“THNX Gov. Pritzker, legislative champs @staterepmoeller @SenatorSteans, amazing partners @ILSafeSchools @lgbt_legacy!” Equality Illinois, the state’s largest LGBTQ civil rights group tweeted Friday.
State Sen. Heather Steans, who also sponsored the bill, said earlier this year that lawmakers sought to “not only teach an accurate version of history but also promote acceptance of the LGBTQ community.”
“One of the best ways to overcome intolerance is through education and exposure to different people and viewpoints,” the Democrat said, WGN reported.

The article didn’t say at what grade level this would occur.
Would it be before, co-incident with, or after any of the more normal “birds and bees” health curriculum?
Preparing the toddlers for their Master’s degrees in LGBTQ Studies when they get to “college”.
They’re getting a little behind in their homework.....
What needs to be taught about them is how many serial killers come from this group. How many of this group are infected with diseases ranging from relatively minor STDs up to Hepatitis C and AIDS. How many of this group molest children. How many of this group die from suicide.
If they tell the truth about these people, children will be properly inspired to shun and avoid these dangerous mentally ill people.

Seems to me that it’s not really unusual for certain groups to create or invent a special history for themselves. They use it to validate themselves and to try and prove to others that their choices were accepted and approved of in the past, never mind the facts of course.
For example, I used to be a member of an alternative parenting website where modern day practitioners of Wicca would be triggered by anyone who mentioned what they referred to as “The Burning Times”. They claimed that the number of women (mostly) burned for being witches numbered around 9 million, with absolutely no historical facts to back that up. They also liked to claim that they had more ancient writings for their religion than Christianity. Again with no historical backing. But it was all part of their desire to be part of something that was old and venerable (to them anyway) and not something that they were making up on the fly or based on some wacktard’s illiterate scribbles.
