"Land speculators close to IRGC attacked IranAirForce base in Mahmudabad, Mazandaran province & tried to take over its lands & its residential town in North of Iran. They had brought bulldozers to destroy fence & runway of the base. Three of them were killed."

"Iran Air Force uses the Mahmudabad base for training of its CH-47C Chinook helicopter pilots & also for the Search & Rescue training in CaspianSea.

Well, that’s one way to keep property values up!...........
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission? What the hell are they doing over there?
(Guess it must be the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps.)
I’m surprised they can still keep those CH-47’s flying with no spare parts since 1979.
Ha. Yes, Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps
These guys didn’t understand it’s Area 51 they’re supposed to invade?
I crewed them (C and D models)for several years and you're right. They require constant maintenance or they quickly become death traps. I imagine our 'allies' have helped in some way.
Wouldn't be surprised if the IL gov, or his family, is involved, either.
3D printers or CNC machining?
Wiki: The Mazanderani and the closely related Gilaks occupy the south Caspian region of Iran and speak languages belonging to the North-Western branch of Iranian languages. It has been suggested that their ancestors came from the Caucasus region, perhaps displacing an earlier group in the South Caspian. Linguistic evidence supports this scenario, in that the Gilaki and Mazanderani languages (but not other Iranian languages) share certain typological features with Caucasian languages. There have been patterns analyzed of mtDNA and Y chromosome variation in the Gilaki and Mazanderani.
Land speculators?
“Adverse possession” in a lawless land.
“Im surprised they can still keep those CH-47s flying with no spare parts since 1979.”
Yeah, that does stretch the imagination. UNTIL you stop and consider that Iran has money, and people here and in Europe have parts.
They get all the parts they need. It’s just that if YOU wanted to sell them parts openly, that would be illegal. For insiders and the establishment, it’s no problem.

Which they got from their allies in the Syrian resistance, which THEY got from US allies, like Turkey. And as the Middle East turns and turns, allies become enemies and enemies become allies.
No doubt some of that comes in to play. I don't think I could trust an Iranian made part for anything that flies. They may be OK with it.
This would be roughly similar to SS Troops trying to take over a Luftwaffe base in Germany during World War II.
Rivalry is one thing, but one defacto branch of the government trying to forcibly take a facility from another government organization is very peculiar.

And not the 1st time. The IRGC tried this in the 1990’s at a base in Shiraz. About 100 IRGC were killed.
I’m all for it!
Better they kill each other than any of our guys.
