Much has been made of the “thumbs up,” insisting that it was inappropriate considering this baby’s tragic circumstances. What would such critics prefer? A thumbs down?
Everyone knows that this baby was just dealt a very bad hand, but the relatives are caring for the baby and doing the right thing. What’s wrong with giving them all a thumbs up? Heck, if someone posted a photo of the baby and the relatives on facebook or instagram, I guarantee that hundreds if not thousands of people would give them a virtual “thumbs up.” What’s so bad about the President doing it in person?
