Don't let one anecdote make you too excited. These folks are the minority of the minority. While it's too early to say who he is going to run against, Trump will not have it any easier than he did in 2016. The odds of winning Maryland, Virginia and the usual list of blue states are zero.

Attitudes have hardened on the left, much more so than in 2016 when no one thought Trump would win. There will not be one liberal who will not vote in 2020.

Trump received about 2 million more votes than Romney did in 2012 and Hillary received about 100,000 votes less than Obama did in 2012.

The interesting thing is that Jill Stein received 1 million more votes in 2016 than in 2012, which I think is most all a protest vote by democrats who just could not vote for the corrupt Hillary and the Libertarian party received 1.3 million votes in 2012 and almost 4.5 million in 2016, again, mainly protest votes for folks who could not vote for Hillary. I don't think dems will cast protest votes in 2020. It will be all about defeating Trump.

He lost suburban moms by the droves in 2018 (I know some of them and they were republicans who switched).

Then there is the issue of ballot harvesting, which is legal. Are republicans going to do the same or just watch the dems ballot harvest?

The only game changer is the Russian Collusion investigation. If these docs are actually released and these treasonous creatures are exposed, indicted and go to trial, that might make 2020 a walk. On the other hand, we know what has gone on for 2 years and I am amazed at the lack of awareness. I have no doubt, there will be many who refuse to believe it, if the facts are exposed and the MSM actually reports on it, but that's OK...those folks will be in the minority.

I don't believe any president is elected by accident and while I think Trump will win, I just don't see how he wins the popular vote. I have read that Trump wants to campaign in California in an attempt to win the popular vote, which is gutsy. We will see.
