Sadly, he’s right. The political fighting will never ever stop. Every time the left wins, they simply double down and want more. Does anyone, for example, honestly think these Red Flag laws will end the calls for more restrictions? The left will simply not complaining until we have total and complete gun confiscation. Except once that occurs—Heaven help us if it does—we will have zero recourse against anything else the left wants to impose.
We are a constitutional republic. Our constitution was brilliantly written to protect political minorities from simple democratic majorities. They cannot simply pass laws to vote away your rights, like the right to bear arms. The only legal, constitutional recourse they legitimately possess is the ability to amend the US Constitution. Other than that? Gun grabbers can go pound sand!
Red Flag Laws are the latest in legislative abdication. They’ll grant bureaucrats the right to seize your weapons for a growing list of accusations. Did your doctor prescribe an anti-depressant to get you past the loss of a family member? Hand over your gun. Did your ex report you for an argument wherein she thought you made a threat? Hand in your gun. Once the legal basis is there these regulations will proliferate to the point where the 2nd Amendment will be theoretical rather than real.
