Way to go, ICE and Mississippi! Morton, MS, had a great basketball summer camp back in the late 1960’s. Whole town did have a bad odor though from the chicken plants. But some of those high schools in that region had great basketball players since they had no footballs teams, just basketball.

I can barely wait to read the Clarion Ledger’s Editorial on this subject ... LOL.

How will the editors refer to the illegal alien employees ICE removed from the various plants?

“Undocumented”? “Immigrants”? “Victims”?

Certainly not, “illegal aliens”!

Please catch up...

https://sealedair.com/blog/how-new-automation-technologies-will-transform-poultry-processing

I suspect that this is already happening. I’ve been seeing prices for boneless chicken breast as low as $1.69 / lb. fairly often at Aldi, and occasionally at other groceries. A few times I’ve seen $1.49 / lb. for either boneless breasts or boneless thighs. These are chain-wide or region-wide discounts in most cases - not “our store got double shipped” blowouts, which I’ve seen even lower.

IMO, Pres. Trump should ask for legislation for extra-low rate loans for automation for plants that will “go the extra mile” to certify their employees are legal residents. Everybody wins - except the illegals. And, I suppose, some Dems...

The biggest problem would be getting the legislation through the House.

The price of chicken maybe should double. And then all the Fed-induced inflation can be revealed. Maybe we need to be devising an economy based on free markets, labor and the rule of law, rather than finance? Regaining the Republic won’t be accomplished on the cheap.

If you look at a map of these ICE raid locations I live pretty much in the middle of them. The illegal alien invasion in these chicken plants happened in the late 1980’s. These jobs are hot, nasty, disgusting work and the owners were never willing to pay more than minimum wage for workers. Before the mexicans came in the workforce was almost 100% black, almost overnight all the black workers were gone and they were replaced by mexicans. My dad had to hire a spanish interpreter in his business in Forest, MS, because of it. The vast majority of the workers were always illegals and the feds would periodically raid these plants. I always maintained that it was a wink-wink-nod-nod type of situation with the owners because they’d raid a plant about once every three years and haul off 75% of the workers, a week later they’d all be back and the feds wouldn’t mess with them for a few more years. It was all for optics in my opinion, the feds and the owners were in collusion. These raids were very sporadic and did essentially nothing, the illegals were right back in a week or so.

The black workers that were displaced by the mexicans mostly went on welfare and that’s how most local blacks subsist today. You’re not going to get them to go back to work in those chicken plants for minimum wage, welfare pays too much today and it’ll be a pay cut for most of them to work a minimum wage job. The plant owners are going to have to pay a decent wage to get workers if their illegals don’t come back. While the taxpayer has been supporting a displaced workforce via welfare the illegals have been getting medicaid for their families of anchor babies and collecting millions in earned income tax credit (yes, they file tax returns and milk that system too).

A workforce based off of illegals has been the norm for the last 35 years and is part of the reason you can buy chicken for so cheap. People are already screaming that the price of chicken is going to go up which is fine with me, keeping chicken prices low based on a scam industry employing illegals while keeping American workers in welfare means it costs the U.S. taxpayer an awful lot for that cheap chicken. I hope the whole industry goes under and the owners go to jail, they’ve gotten rich off of flaunting immigration laws knowing that most of their workers are illegal but they don’t care. Meanwhile my area has been turned into Mexico Norte with broken down house trailers where illegals live five to a room, schools having to put in ESL courses, medicaid abuses, and illegals getting involved in hit and run accidents because they don’t have insurance.

If they offer enough pay Americans will do it.

They just want the soft slavery of illegal immigration.

Suppose they offered a thousand an hour? There would be good applicants!

Try 10, 15, 20... when you get a good pool of applicants in response then you know you are offering the right wage.

Yes chicken gets more expensive. Slavery produces cheap goods, of course.

I will bet you the Union steps in and this will be a union shop in no time,

Don't bet against this being a union shop already. Unions LOVE illegal aliens. So much so that they manages to get ICE raids to stop back in the late 90's and got written into their contracts that being an illegal alien was no reason to fire a worker. They are just "laid off" with the accompanying benefits until they can "straighten out" their papers. You then must re-hire them with no loss of seniority or benefits. You also will be grieved if you try to run their new papers before letting them back into the plant.

That statement is true. I suspect you think it is Trump being criticized which triggers snowflakes, but it is merely an observation. You are no better than Antifa groups.

I’ll be really interested in seeing how many are being processed not only for being in the country illegally, but also for identity theft. That’s something the left never wants to talk about.

Nope. Not whining.

Merely pointing out that 680 is peanuts compared to the estimated 30 MILLION.

That's 0.002267%.
