That’s the fastest way I can think of to get rolled up. Avoid “units” like cyanide. “The concept of leaderless resistance was developed by Col. Ulius Louis Amoss, a former U.S. intelligence officer, in the early 1960s. An anti-communist, Amoss saw leaderless resistance as a way to prevent the penetration and destruction of CIA-supported resistance cells in Eastern European countries under Soviet control.”
We have 'units' defined in the US Constitution. These 'units' are called states.
From what I understand, every non-official militia has one or two FBI agents in it’s membership.
BUT, most States have some sort of official militia. They train in such things as Emergency Management, First Aid, Disaster Relief etc. They also do have ranks and some do weapons practice/training. They do background checks on their members and don’t allow people with a criminal record in.
Just do a web search for militia + your state
List of “Patriot” groups which of course SPLC considers rigth wing extremists. Many are militia. Some are sanctioned or known to be good guys by their States
