You can kill just as many people with an 8mm pistol.

The shooter in Vegas didn’t use a semi automatic.

Don’t listen to propaganda.

The guns didn't change. Society did, thanks to liberalism.

This will be final straw for me.

and our country will never be the same. I am a single issue voter.

If ANY item from Clinton’s ban is repeated, I will no longer be a productive member of American society.

Garbagacious premise.

The Nixon move to recognize China was a great event.

China is an can not be ignored. By dealing with China, Nixon flanked Russian ambitions in Vietnam and effectively ended the vietnam war. Russia was out.

A more apt analogy than “Nixon to China” would be Bush 41 breaking his “no new taxes” pledge.

Liz, it has nothing to do with hunting or skeet shooting. The 2nd ammendment is to let the government know that The People are in charge and officials derive their power from our consent. Without suitable weapons, the consent part goes away.

I’m disappointed in Liz, especially in her “hunting and clay pigeons” nonsense. Shows she never believed in 2A.

I’m confident President Trump knows better than to embrace the Gun Grabber agenda. That one action would cause me to sit out the next election and several million more would as well.

I take this article as so much wishful thinking by Leftist Gun Grabbers.

Guns in rational hands are not the problem. The problem has always been the crazy behind the gun and the politicians who seek advantage wallowing in blood. The real problem is that over the past fifty years the insane have been released from involuntary confinement, police do not act as proactive cops and the technology of firearms has advanced. The crazy in Dayton was shot in less than 45 seconds but he still managed in less than a minute to kill nine and wound eleven more. Sorry but when a crazy puts society on notice in various ways that they are a danger, they forfeit their civil rights.

But don’t expect any meaningful action. The Democrats are using the crazies as props. The scenes of tents and street filled feces in San Francisco, LA and Austin fit their sick political narrative. “Look! Capitalism does not work. People are marginalized. Give us more of your money in taxes and real power. We will create a “fair” society. Then you won’t have to see this or worry about getting mugged.”

Blood and misery has always been the hard currency of the Left. The Democratic Party will always love abortion and pimp poverty, mental illness and misery.

Fully automatic guns are illegal,

No, Liz, they aren't. And if the very first sentence of the luke-warm bile that you call journalism is factually incorrect, why should I read further?

“If President Trump embraces a gun and magazine ban the Republicans WILL BE WIPED OUT in November and for years to come.”

He’s already pledged to support that by way of a federal law that would push red flag laws into the states that don’t already have them. There’s no “due process.” Accusations alone cause such orders to be issued.

Say, “No red flag!” The next rally might be an opportunity to be heard chanting while walking back out in an orderly manner.

We need them to defend against tyranny. That’s what 2A is for primarily.

It’s more of a Bush “read my lips moment”. Reinstate the assault rifle ban, and no way in hell ill vote for him.

No newspaper needs a computer.....the block type printing press should be just fine.

No internet site is needed either for the media.

I hunt with a MSR (Read Modern Sporting Rifle). When hunting pesky hogs one needs high capacity magazines. For any liberal troll out there, MSP = AR-15/AR-10. I know there are some others in that category but I prefer the 15s for hogs and the 10s for big game.

...but the ban on semi-automatics (of the kind used in the Orlando shootings) and related ammunition expired in 2004. That restriction should be revived;...

No. Crime statistics from that era (and preceding and following) have shown that the "assault weapons ban" of 1994-2004 made no measurable/attributable difference in crime. Why advocate for a "solution" that demonstrably, provably will have no impact?

...nobody needs what many call an assault rifle to hunt game or shoot clay pigeons...

At least two things wrong with this one phrase. First, it is un-Constitutional. The Bill of Rights protects (note, protects not grants) our right to keep and bear arms, to defend ourselves. It is not now, never has been about "need." Two, I don't have an AR-15 for hunting. I have it to defend my family, myself, and my home. Is it more effective at causing death and injury than say a bolt action rifle? Yes, obviously - and that is exactly how I choose to exercise my right to defend myself - with the most effective means I can afford and practically use.

...At the least, the size of the magazines should be limited, which could lessen the carnage of mass shootings...

Wrong. That is one of those things that sounds reasonable only to people unfamiliar with firearms. Magazines can be swapped out and the weapon reloaded in a matter of a few seconds. Even I can do this, and I don't practice, I don't have a dedicated magazine holder/rig. A few extra seconds are meaningless when typically these shooters have minutes to accomplish their crimes. (*) Mag swaps can be accomplished while the shooter is scanning looking for incoming threats or other targets. There's even an argument to be made that smaller mags are less likely to get caught on things as you move. More mags of lower capacity also gives you the option of simply discarding a mag if there is a malfunction, clearing the weapon, and reloading a fresh mag without losing too much ammo.

(*) Note, in at least 2 of the 3 most recent incidents armed LEOs were on-scene and (if reports are to be believed) engaged the shooters in under a minute. While a lot of people were injured and killed, the potential was for many multiples of the casualties. This highlights the value of having armed personnel on-site. END GUN FREE ZONES NOW! It is obvious armed citizens could not only fight back and help minimize casualties, knowing there were no-longer large pools of defenseless victims would act as a deterrent - stopping these incidents before they even start.

All the idiots talking about banning standard capacity mags need to know that it will simply cause a lot of innovation to make belt Fed uppers for AR’s much cheaper. Right now they’re ~$4k. A little tweaking and increase in supply and they’ll be much less expensive. You can link two rounds together or two thousand.

Belt fed technology is over 100 years old. How you gonna regulate that? All this regulation does is create innovation. For example, bump stocks and binary triggers to simulate full auto. ‘Pistol’ braces to circumvent silly SBR regs, so forth and so on.

Pretty sure there are millions who refuse to be disarmed. WTF you going to do about that? That’s right... nothing.

If Trump and the capitulationists in the congressional R’s jam this through, it will become Truwp’s “Why I lost in 2020 moment.”

As well as a bunch of R Senators.

The left sees this and racism as wedge issues that force R’s to vote with their base or with Suburban moms.

So expect much much more hysteria between now and the election.
